Still amazes me that ordinary people can make millions without working simply by posting retouched pictures of themselves on the internet!
It depresses rather than amazes me.

No, I don't understand the logic in that either. That's what our Covid crew are insisting on though.

We don't really have a fitness/youtube/media thread so i'm not sure where else to ask...

You are probably intelligent enough to answer your own question.

Ironically, you will now get more views from placing Dubai in your post!

Joined a Pure Gym as bouncing about different areas at the moment and so many 'clowns'

Theyve got a kettlebell rack on one wall in an open space, rather than workout in said open space, many inc. the pts with their clients insist on working out infront of the rack by about 1-2'. Normally they get extra bonus points by leaving their phones by the racks at the place where youd normally put your foot to put the kb's back

Guys who turn up with massive empty holdalls with fk all in (you can tell by how it collapses in on itself) then stick them infront of the DB rack or in another trip hazard location

The thirst thots who seem to try and outdo each other on who can wear the skimpiest tightest clothing, fortunately no filmings allowed in the gym or id end up on one of those tic toks. One was applying full war paint pre workout, so im guessing she wasnt down for sweating. TBF though, some of them are the hardest training in the gym

90% of the kids wear belts, wrist straps or even elbow sleeves. Now i know weight being moved about is relative to the person, injuries, time spent lifting etc. but they aren't lifting heavy and nowhere near bodyweight+ when you might start needing 'mechanical' support. They even wear them when not even doing an activity linked to what the supports help at. And if they are that injured to be needing that sort of support, maybe they should spend time at a lighter weight working back up to it.

One guy seems to have been injecting synthol into his pecs as nothing else is as developed to the same extent.

One guy, chief fake natty clown (insta says hes natty, gyno nipples suggest otherwise), always wears the same clothing that hes either got multiples of or just the 1 top being worn daily, belt (hide the belly) and tracksuit bottoms. If nobody is paying attention to him, then weights are being dropped and noise is being made for abit of instant attention gratification.

the fking clowns who do an easy set of 10 reps (no struggling), then spend the next 5-10 minutes on their phones 'recovering'. If i was a gym owner, id put a faraday cage around it or have a timer for how long someone can use a bench for etc. Or they can only use a bench if they are going to use is and its not just for resting on after doing standing bicep curls or phone rest.

though was talking to a few friends who frequented an old gym i went to, been infested by school kids and almost been a few fights in there with them due to them being disrespectful. Though the management isnt great as most are just qualified PT's so dont say st to the kids.

fk im getting old

I'm very lucky, lots of young folk train at my gym but they are mannerful, knowledgeable and tidy. Brilliant local gym, just getting back into it now.

Yeah, I've found the independent 'meat head' gyms to be alot better but not easy to find bouncing about sadly.

Tbf though, most do put their st away after use so there is that.

You can also tell its the school holidays as the gym was quiet

I go to the gym run by the local council at the leisure centre, so I avoid most of the posers, bodybuilders, divas etc. However, after becoming a mature student, I started going in the mornings. Unfortunately I met Mrs Daily Mail. Retired boomer, complains about her casual job she took up to keep her busy, has an opinion on everything, complains about people who come to the gym and mention how they struggle with body confidence.

Give me strength.

Had a JD and a Pure gym open up nearby and it's drawn a few of the untidy/annoying ones away due to the lower monthly fees.

Yeah. I'm a contractor and have met a few of these at sites where I've worked. Not got any in the gym though.

There is an elderly Eastern European lady. Doesn't speak much English.

An older 75 year old gent who was a bodybuilder/marathon runner back in the day. He's great.

No other old people frequent the place, bar one bloke in his 60s who comes in and messes a bit for around 20 mins and goes home.

Shame really, that age group need to come in the most.

Only a few people my age as well mid-40s

None of them do much bar walking on the treadmill and a few bicep curls
