If there's ever a time when the vaping device fails or runs out, I think people reach for the fags if available
Much like with ciggies you plan so as not to be without your vape, so keep spare coil, tank and juice in your house/car/workplace, easy.

I learnt that by being in the middle of nowhere and dropping my vape, the glass smashed and I had no backup. I went without for six hours, wasn't that hard to be honest and confirmed that nicotine isn't THAT addictive.

A friend went sailing round the world and thought he'd packed enough duty free cigs too last, turned out he hadn't and when he ran out he tried rolling up tea leaves into toilet paper hehe

How's everyone getting on?

I'm relatively happily chomping my way through Nictotinell mints. And for me, they do take the craving away.

Probably am breathing better/coughing less. I run a bit, so this benefit is noticeable, although I have a cold currently.

Of course I miss it. But am dealing with it for now.
I do not miss the £cost or the smell. (never smoked in the house, I mean the smell of it on me/clothing).

Hope everyone else is coping.

I've been on Vapes for 2yrs now and will stick to them.

My plan further into the year is to cut down the use of those too.

Cigarettes are stupidly expensive and i prefer the Vape now

I have just got to the one month stage!

So far it has actually cost me money as I have been 'investing' in vaping stuff but I have got enough supplies to see me through a couple of months probably!

It has been no big struggle to be honest, I haven't had a craving for proper tobacco for a while and I am vaping quite weak e-juices.

The popular opinion in the vaping community seems to be that you should start on the strongest juices and very gradually work your way down. I just started half way down the strength list and have already started reducin and haven't noticed.

To be honest it feels like I am vaping for the enjoyment of all of the lovely flavours rather than for the nicotine.

Nearly 4 weeks for me. Biggest difference is I don't smell anymore despite never smoking in confined spaces. The smoke gets everywhere.

I'm vaping but started on low strength at 3mg. Have worked my way up to 12mg! But I'm mixing the 12mg with 6mg to reduce potency. Will eventually lower the strength with a view to stopping completely as vaping also carry their own health risks.

I have quit many times before up to 2 years previously but no pressure, one day at a time. Meanwhile, just carry on not worrying if I smell and enjoy the extra cash. Over £300 a month on fags was ridiculous.

Keep it up peeps.

A week shy of 6 months for me. 12mg down to 6 on the vape, next order will be 3mg.

One question though, yes the smell of smoke has gone, and I'm saving a fortune, but I'm convinced that rather than being odourless as claimed, the vape does in fact leave a slight nicotiney smell around the house. Nothing terrible, but for some reason I notice it most when I come out the shower. Is this true, or am I imagining it? (I'm sure I'm not!).

Yes, vaping indoors leaves a lingering smell. I don't vape indoors either. I treat the vape as a cigarette.

I'm not going to go outside with it, too cold. I've found getting a through draught gets rid of it quickly enough.

I'm now also wondering if it leaves a residue on everything the same as smoking did. I'm sure it will but given it's clear, the fumes are white and the tank doesn't go black or brown with tar I'm sure it won't be the manky yellow/brown sticky muck fags left.

I have heard that if you vape a lot in the car you do have to wipe the windows down so yes there is a residue but I have not noticed it yet.

Not here. A smell yes, but it is not unpleasant.

Well done all!

I made the decision to not go the vaping route. For me it was too close to smoking.

The nicotinell mints I am on are the 1mg ones (lowest dose they do) - and I think i'm not probably consuming more nicotine that before. smile

Next stage will be to reduce the amount of mints and then move to normal mints....

As it stands though, I am spending a lot less on the mints than I was on cigs.

And after just over 3 weeks in, I'm starting to want to hit people over the head with a chair a lot less smile

Congrats, how long has it been and did you use any 'aids'?

I was in a bar all day yesterday ( actually a bar you can smoke in) and I was running really low on vape juice so i decided to have a cigarette .

YUK!! I only managed a couple of drags before I put it out. I can't believe I used to do that all the time, I almost feel like the guy might have given me a joke cigarette designed to put people off smoking foreversmile

I think that that will officially bring to an end those little pangs of jealousy I get when vaping with smokers woohoo

Thats always how relapses start, just one puff! Be on your guard for more pangs to come.

I used to bang down 60 a day years ago when I was driving all day and they were cheaper. Then knocked that on the head and was on 20 a day.
Not too long ago (middle of winter) I'd leave them in the car, and had one on the way to work, one on the way home, that was it. Could I be bovvered trekking through 2.75mm of snow to grab a ciggie?
It was pure habit by that stage - then about a month ago I got the flu, then 2 days later got the cold!
I tried one and to be honest, it tasted lke burning tyres.
Still have the cold and haven't touched one yet, even though the hussy left a pack beside the bed. And a lighter.

It's odd - if she has a smoke I love the smell - but try and smoke one myself and I may as well roll a big spliff with crumbed rubber.

I’ve had a relapse and a bad one.

I found the vape was making me wheezy and I bought a packet of menthol and that was it.

I need to get back on the vape and find a set up that stops making me breathless

Relapses galore for me earlier in the thread. I never gave up giving up and July this year will be 3 years clean. My social vape was zero nic for a year+ but no idea where it even is now. New year's eve was the last time I saw it. No inclination to look for it.

I am deeply flawed and if I can make it stick, anyone can.

Congrats!

I am using very low strength vape juices , but not zero. I suspect I will vape for a few more months until my supplies run out and then knock it on the head.

The problem is, I enjoy vaping more than I enjoyed smoking!
