What training are you doing/have you done today? Vol.2
Discussion
Great workout again today.
Deadlift:
145kg x 4
5 x 3 @ 110kg
In the 3rd set at 110kg, something clicked and the weight became very light and easy. I've felt stalled on deadlifts but think I have cracked it now. The mental cue that worked for me was pulling myself down while bringing up my chest as much as I can until it's uncomfortable. I finally got that 'coiled spring' feeling that people talk about and could use my own mass to help lift. Great feeling. I have been muscling it up until now.
OHP: 5 x 55kg
6 x 3 @ 50kg
Easy and my shoulder is back to feeling 100%
Curls, band pull aparts and face pulls. I still have the bicep strength of a 15 year old boy.

Found out this morning that the MRI confirmed that I have torn my tendon off, got a bit left on the humorous and will need surgery if I want it back to full strength.
Not going to lie, I'm stting it a bit, only because of my weight and increased risks because of it :/
Some info on PM tear:Not going to lie, I'm stting it a bit, only because of my weight and increased risks because of it :/

Very well done, Smiffy! Even when you're injured, you're still killing it on the lifts!smiffy180 said:
Awesome work. Congratulations!smiffy180 said:

Surgery ASAP is the way to get you back to strength in the shortest possible time. If I've understood correctly it seems a straightforward operation so it's a case of wearing a sling for a few weeks then [very]careful rehab. It will be a fair old time before you're lifting and progressing chest wise at the rate you were pre-injury so concentrating on another target such as squats is a smart thing to do. Try not to injure yourself doing them or you'll start running out of functional bodyparts. Thanks

I've arguably got one of the best physios in the UK on hand helping me.
He's 1 of 6 with a certain qualification in the UK for something (unrelated like acupuncture) and is still studying other methods like the Chinese use.
And only £25ph! And some freebies as sponsorship but I still pay him every now and again
Hoping he'll see me back on the weights sooner, but I'm aware it could be a while
I did two of my favorite things this morning, drive my TVR with the roof to the gym, and weight training! The gym was empty, not a soul in there, it was great. however, no-one put anything back the night before so I spent the first 10 minutes emptying the bars of their plates and putting everything today..
I genuinely only meant to de a few leg presses and Deadlifts, but ended up doing:
Back Extension - 2x20
Leg Press - 5x10-6 reps
Bench Press - 5x12-3 reps (up to 120 - didn't feel confident with no spotter bars, so didn't try to force too many heavy reps).
Power Clean - 8x2 reps
BB Clean and Press - 5x5 and then a few singles up to 85kg
Cable crossover - 4x12-8 reps (first time I done these, loved them)
Deadlift - 5x5-1 rep
Pendlay Row - 5x5
Wide Grip Pull Ups - 3x12-6 reps
Seated Cable Row - 5x12
Machine Press (neutral grip) - 4x10-1 (just seeing how many plates I could use while no-one was there..)
And then a great 15 mile drive home with the roof off, which ended up being more like 40 miles...!
