Training coming to an end here on my stay in the South of France. So my stats on the bike for the last week are 400km covered, with 4,000m of climbing. This may be slightly exceeded with tomorrow's final ride planned. All the rides were done with temps well into the 30s with winds gusting to gale force.

Also throw into the mix well over 2,000 press ups and 500 pull ups - it's probably time for a holiday... Pic below, just to give an idea of the terrain I've been cycling in.

Good hour at Thai last night, good warm up with a stretch down and then a good deep stretching session a few hours later. I definitely feel tighter at my pre-bed session when I do Thai boxing in an evening.

My Olympic platform arrived yesterday, and that was almost a workout in itself hand-balling it off the back of the lorry piece-meal and carrying it to the garage, due to the weight! Hope to smarten up the gym/garage a little this weekend.

Also had my BB chains arrive, so used those today..

Leg Press - 5x20-6 reps
Bench Press (with chains - 2x8kg) - 5x12-4 reps
Power Clean - 8x6-2 reps
High Pull - 4x10-5 reps
Rack Pull (with chains) - 4x8-5 reps
Pendlay Row - 5x8-5 reps
Wide grip Pull Ups - 4x12-8 reps
Seated Pulley Row - 4x16-12 reps

The Bear today.

And attempted Grace, got 3 minutes, pretty disappointed, thought I'd be close to 2.

Quick question: where do gyms sell their second-hand equipment? I'd love to get a 7ft/20kg bar, but I can't seem to find any decent quality 2" bars for less than £lots.

I haven't broached the subject with the boss yet, and she won't be pleased about another barbell in the house, so it has to be cheap!

I'd be interested too!

Looking at Rogue stuff online now but don't want to pay those prices!

You could get a new bar (rated at 320kg) for £64.99 here:

ETA - I don't know how much longer my Oly bar will last, which came with the package I bought. I am wondering if the guru's know if this would be a good long-term investment?

Crossfit strict press? Is that without a butterfly kip? smile

4 mins to get to a 1RM? A lot of time if you know your 1RM already.

Cheers!

This morning:
Front Squat x 3
Box Jump x 5
5 rounds with 3 mins rest between rounds. Front squats at 90kg (a PB for me)

then:
'Add 5'
Strict Press x 2
Push Press x 2
Jerk x 2
Starting at 35kg and adding 5kg each time. Rest time is only as long as it takes to change the weights.
The idea is to work each exercise to failure, then drop it. I maxed out at 60kg strict press, then it was on to just push press x 2, jerk x 2. Push press maxed out at 70kg and jerk at 75kg.

then:
Lateral Raise 4x15-25kg
10x10 pushups
500m SkiErg.

Back at lunchtime for some more fun!

Well it's a team work out for a competition at the weekend. So it's 4 minute for all atheltes to achieve a max lift and it's after 12 minutes of work.

How do you stand doing the single LM's?

I mean do you stand with your feet parallel to each other or do you stand with one foot in front of the other?

Natural stance - so one foot probably slightly in front but not exaggerated. Not using much rotation, if any. If you stand opposite leg forward and drive from the hip (like a punch), it's more like a push press.
