I managed 40/41. (33 according to DD!)

It did me, totally. Managed 100 reps total. A few squats and i went home. Wasn't feeling it at all.

Gonna try for 125kg for 8 next.
I'm heading to the gym shortly - bent over row at 60kgs? 50 reps being the goal?

Should be in for some deadlifts today - going for 5x5 starting at 120, going up 10kgs each round.

Maybe some power cleans afterwards, then I dunno.

Today>

EZ preacher: 60kg x 15
DB hammers: 30's x 16
Calf press: to failure
Squat: too sore today...
Walking Lunges: these will replace squats if they're sore, try to focus on my left leg. bunch with the bar, quite tough!
GHR: against a band, to failure.

Pissed off with squats, but lunges were good, so i'll do them if squats hurt. Just need to slowly build up the load.

Was just as many as you can... 50 seems s decent mark.

I have 50 in me, for sure. Might try again tomorrow.

Think the best is up to 56 now...

Similar to yesterday, except the bike ride was faster and I did more pull ups, so not really similar at all. Progress is being made. Itching to get to the gym - may pencil in a session tomorrow.
HI Marcus, for someone who wants to do a bit of cycling, a complete newbie, what brand would you suggest. Something decent quality but not silly expensive. Under 1k (if that can be done). Something you can use on the road and decent trails. Cheers smile

Right ok, bit of a tricky one if you're a newbie as I would recommend Planet X bikes (I've got two) - they really do offer fantastic value for money, however it's an online retailer so getting hold of a bike for fit and comfort test ride is going to be difficult. Failing that, have a look at what Trek/Giant/Boardman offer. All of these should be available from your local bike store. All these manufacturers will have some pretty neat gravel bikes in their range.

I had 52 decent reps. Could have got another 15/20 maybe, but the form wouldn't be good.

5x5 heavy deadlifts from 130-170kgs increasing each set

A few sets of powercleans and then standing overhead military press up to 70kgs to finish.

200kg speed pull tonight.
Aside from form, really happy it's still moving quick. Goal is to hit 300 for reps by Christmas if physio gives me go ahead to go that heavy.

For now, back to accessories work which seems to be paying off smile

Sod all laugh
Just got back onto Incline/flat dumbbells circa 50lbs for sets of 10, soon as I feel any twinge anywhere the set stops and so does the exercise.
Can be frustrating when I'm feeling strong too frown
Do a few cable flies using the 2nd/3rd weight down for sets of 20 and that's pretty much it!

I'm expecting more progress by October/November but for now it's just easing into it.

Busy last couple of days training, so, yesterday did get to the gym, so pleased to be back pumping a bit of iron! Felt really strong and refreshed - highlights 140kg bench for 4 reps which I think is a pb,and also 110lb on the preacher curl (machine) for 5 reps. That fifth one - boy must have taken 15-odd seconds, but I wasn't going to fail on that sucker. biggrin

Then last night an hour on the turbo with a middle 25 minutes basically a balls out effort. Slept well last night.

Today was an hour and half on the bike with the boys, pretty hilly - 700m of climbing in very windy conditions. Then 110 pull ups at home. Back to the gym tomorrow - can't wait.

Today>

Low incline smith: 130kg x 15 S/S DB fly
Push press: 100kg x 10
Dips: +60kg x 13
DB row: 105kg x 20
Chins: to failure

Really good session, felt strong. BW is finally moving up again, likely due to eating like a mad thing.

Today:
1) Row to Hell
Rounds of 500m, 400m, 300m, 200m and 100m. Rest time between each is the time it took you to row the last part. My legs are still really sore from squatting on Wednesday morning and that last 100m was possibly the longest 17 seconds of my life!
2) Don't Ask Me About Your Abs
Sit-up
Front Leaning Rest/FLR (pushup position plank)
V-up
V-up static hold
Leg raise
Leg raise static hold
Hanging leg raise
FLR
30 seconds of each exercise with 30 seconds of rest (during which you must do 5 pushups)
3 rounds
3) Dumbbell lateral raise 4x15-25
Done face down on an incline bench - really effective!
4) Pushup Maximus (10x10 pushups, minimal rest)

I passed out for the first time today, and what a strange experience that was!

I was doing an extra set of BB Clean and Press (6th set), I did one perfect rep, and on the 2nd (80kg), I locked out for a few seconds at the top, then brought the bar to my chest. next thing I know, my head is wedged in the nose grill of my car, and I haven't a clue where I am or what I am doing in the garage. I thought I was in bed, and dreaming I was in the garage, very odd sensation. After a few more seconds, I came to realise what had happened, but I don't remember anything past bringing the bar to my chest!

Head cleared and carried on...

Back Extensions - 2x20

Leg Press - 5x16-8 and 3 singles
Front Squat - 4x10-5 reps
Bench Press - 6x12-4 reps
Clean and Press - 5x12-5 reps (up to 75kg) and then a final set where I passed out..

BB BOR - 4x12-8 reps
Wide Grip Pull Ups - 4x12-8 reps
Seated Pulley Row - 4x20-12 reps

Happened to me a few times- Cleans and front squats do it! Weird sensation as you come too! Lucky you didn't bang your head on something more substantial! Invest in a crash helmet.....

Edit to add- I got one on vid, from ages ago www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXk4avdKRFY
