How do you find the SSB? Everyone seems to rave about it, and it is certainly more comfortable. But I seem to be able to squat quite a lot more with a regular BB. Do you think that's just down to familiarity?
I fking hate it It has meant I've had to reduce the weight significantly but, I've been told I'll be able to squat more on a regular bar after?
It makes the spinal erectors work harder I think I was told.
Brutal workout with my little brother. He's smaller than me but 8 years younger and gets a load more sleep, so I was quite motivated to not seem like a big slow lump. Kept the pace very high.
Deadlift:
132.5 kg x 8,5,5 (brother did chest stuff - classic youth of today...)
Superset of landmine press with dumbell rows.
Press: 40kg x 12,10,10 (brother used 30kg)
Row: 38kg x 12,10,10 (brother used 20kg)
Circuit of curls, face pulls and press ups x 3 to finish.
So much easier working out with someone else - pushed myself much harder and was drenched in sweat.

Off topic but does anyone use a heart rate monitor?
I am attempting to loose some weight after a fairly successful period of calorie surplus, I've left myself plenty of time to reach my goal but just wondering if a HR monitor will help me during cardio?
I use MFP and am currently loosing weight at a steady rate (1-2pounds a week).

My watch has one. It's god awful. Only advice would be to get a standalone product if you are serious, maybe with a chest strap. But can't you just get in what feels like the fat burning zone (moderate effort, still able to breathe through nose etc) and stay there?I am attempting to loose some weight after a fairly successful period of calorie surplus, I've left myself plenty of time to reach my goal but just wondering if a HR monitor will help me during cardio?

I would get a chest strap as they are more accurate and I only want to measure my heart rate during my workouts.I guess I would like to see what HR I hit, maintain it for x amount of time and then rest/repeat. Have you used it for this purpose and did it work or give you more motivation to 'push on'?
I am attempting to try more functional cardio, tyre flips, sled push, KB and although I am pushing myself wonder if the HR monitor will aid in any way.

Perhaps even better for the kind of functional stuff you are talking about (because it is harder to tell how hard you are working with that kind of thing).
You've talked me into getting a decent one myself...
220kg x4 SSB Squat PB whilst I'm on a deficit too!
Trying to drop a few KG as I can't fit in one of my belts

You looked pretty svelt in that vid smithy . Shows you the old saying 'the camera adds 20lbs' is bks. What is your calorie intake for maintenance. Must be 5000 maybe 6k?
I think it would from side on! Surprisingly not a lot. Maybe 4000ish for maintenance.
I've got quite a sedentary lifestyle and work from home.
Plus side is food bill is circa £40 a week for me
Today>
Heavy strength day:
(sets x reps)
High bar squat: 250kg x 3x1
Bench: 170kg x 3x1
Dead, beltless: 272.5kg x 3x1
Done. Dreading it this early in the morning, but easier than expected, so that was nice.
End of week 3 of my plan- looking to total 800kg at the end.
Deleted my insta, but might make a new one shortly.

Just fed up TBH- 800 followers posting nonsense for likes and follows, back to a basic page again.....
Yeah. I've noticed that randoms add you and then post cookie-cutter things. THen there's these apps that say get followers, I guess some people use them and it posts stuff on people's walls to get followers. I don't see the point.Had a funny chat yesterday about twitter with someone, but it could just as well be insta, ultimately it boils down to no-one really gives a st what you're doing if you post tedious repetitive crap.
But for exercise related stuff, seeing technique and the like and intense sessions is interesting for me. PLus the 'models.'
