Cheers guys! smile

It can be frustrating, whenever I hit a new PB, with an end goal of a double BW Bench, my weight goes up slightly, too, so it always seems slightly out of reach! hehe
Ha welcome to my world!!
Haha, yep. I never quite got there. 1.85 was as close as I got. 2.0 is elite if done naturally. smile
Am about 6kg off from double BW, doesn't seem a lot, but where you're on the very edge of what you can do, it is a lot. I am sure the chains have helped, especially when locking out at the top, as the bar went up a lot easier than I had anticipated, compared to my last efforts. No pharmaceutical help, just lots of practice.. hehe

I haven't benched for some time because the gyms set up is rubbish. The 'hooks' holding the bar are forward of where you would naturally lift off so i'm focussing on not catching them on the way up!

Hey Chris, maybe you've tried it. If not take a cycle of Creatine. It works well and will get you that 6kg. It's just a supplement. It works. I used it when i did my 165 at a 90kg body weight. I'm 10kg lighter now and I could not bench what you and Marcus can, so well done to both of you.

My younger brother was a strong SOB. when he was 17 he clean and jerked 160kg (6ft 2 and 117kg). Im 5ft 8. No idea where he came from hehe

Thank you! smile

I do take creatine, have done for two years, although from what I have read, it's not so effective for the 'older folk'. But I take it anyway, just in case. hehe

I found that taking a st load of protein and low carbs/fat seem to work for me. If I were 20 or 30 years younger, am sure the ratios would be different.

ROM looks fine to me, DD. Wide pull ups, done properly, don't have a huge ROM. Great stuff.

today>

Squat: 3x5x 210kg
Bench: 3x5x 145kg
dead: 5x1x 232.5kg

Squats felt awful until the 3rd set, really heavy but my own fault for doing zero warm up/stretching beforehand...... Bench and deads were easy. Decent.

This week's pretty heavy on Friday- singles with 257.5 on the squat, 177.5 on the bench and 287.5kg on the dead- quite looking forward to it biggrin

Top work boys. Great benching Chris

Had one back session mid last week, which was great. Bit of HIIT hill sprinting on the hill i live on.

Was tied up interviewing for a new job a fair bit (on my week off, naturally) then went camping in N Yorks for a couple of days. Bit of light walking and press ups while there.

Currently sat at 94kg and feeling good.

Shoulders and Legs today. Lots of side lateral raises and bent over jobless for the rears. Light fronts from a seated position (rested on knee). Still a few rotator niggles but trying to work around it. Nice Creatine energy rush. Strength up at least 15% and in a dehydrated state. Diet on point with the exception of my 2 large vino glasses last night. I'm doing Ab work daily and they are thick albeit under a small layer of lard. BW 82 kg

I'm going to run this course over the next 6-8 weeks then go on a cut

It always astounds me just how much you have to lose despite looking cleanish at the start. At least 77 biggrin
