I've been reading but not writing last 2 weeks ish.
Nice to see everyone is doing well and congratulations across the board on some numbers I've seen!

I've had 10 days of no training and 2 sessions prior to that within 14 days total.
Eaten poorly for the last week and only got back to it last couple days.
I didn't think attending an expo as an exhibitor would require so much effort. Ruined me laugh

Today's session should've been poor, but it was anything but!
240kg x2 SSB squat PB
260/280kg deadlift PB
https://youtu.be/kxUkJxFIPj0

I haven't been deadlifting specifically so the RDL's are definitely paying off and I'm on track for my 300kg x6 Christmas aim biggrin
I really wanted to do 300 today but I'm being very cautious of my chest still.
I should probably stop pushing it now before something goes again but I can't help it laughboxedin

No rush, Ben. You're going great and you'll be pleased you took your time when you can explode back with 100% confidence.

Mixed workout again today - legs are not coping with the volume at the moment but my upper body is loving it.
Bench: 97.5kg x 25 in 4 sets (8 rep PR)
Pull ups: 14kg x 25 in 5 sets
Squats: Didn't have much at all to give so did just a 120kg x 5
Face pulls, triceps & abs to finish.
Also did some loaded carries with the trap bar (just experimenting with 100kg). Reckon I'll load that up for a few weeks to double bodyweight.

That's the main reason I'm holding back, can't do with any other set backs now. Or not on this scale.
I have missed deadlifts though laugh

Nice benching!

Some great sessions over the weekend at the gym and on the bike, I say great - solid rather than spectacular but feeling really strong. Continuing with my pull ups every day, probably nearly 3,000 in the last month, may ease back a bit soon. biggrin

Off to France on Thursday for some training rides then plan to do an event on Saturday. Should be good.

Bodyweight is still around 80kg, not sure whether to continue with my mini bulk or not yet. I like eating so I'll probably continue. biggrin

back and biceps today. Nothing out of the ordinary-got a great back pump from the Creatine and at least 10% stronger. That st rocks. Researching what i thought was a rotator cuff issue appears to be an impingement which is far less serious. Ive been massaging my forearm where the pain is. That isn't a euphemism biggrin

Great that you're getting results from creatine. I'm not sure it does anything at all for me.

I've always had very good gains from it. It's funny, thinking back. In my 20s I'd buy all sorts of suppliments. Off the self stuff. But back then they had some serious stimulants in them. Illegal now. I remember some hyped up sessions. The active ingredient is used in speed lol.

chest and triceps today. Lacked energy, felt hung over but wasn't. The gym was deserted. Incline DB presses to 40kg (4 sets), flat DB flys up to 26kg, letting the weight hang at the bottom and paused for 5 secs per rep. Nice burn. A few sets on the seated bench press machine, narrow hammer grip. Try kick backs, haven't done them for ages as I find I'm completely unco in the form but got a good mind/muscle connection. Skull crushers with Drs which is a good one to really focus in on form. Rope over head extensions. Tri push downs. I really have to hammer my triceps to get any next day discomfort.

Seems so! 40 kg for incline presses is a lot.

I find rope overhead extensions to be the best for actually feeling the triceps stretch and work.

I am not 100% persuaded on tricep isolation work. I do rope pushdowns (just a couple of sets for 15 -20 reps). But I think I would get more out of just increasing volume on bench and OHP, epecially with close grips/

On the 40s, that is as heavy as it gets in my gym. I'm not a big fan of just adding volume. For me, nothing beats going heavier to stress the fibres and build strength. I could manage 45s. When I was younger i could do 55s but i wouldn't even try, now. My back is a bit dodgy. There is a big difference between being physically strong enough to move the weight and being able to properly control Dbs that big. They are big, wide and not easy to handle. I tried some bent over raises earlier this week. One set and suffered back pain for several days (the wrong type of pain). There are several excellent exercises I have to stay well clear of. smile
