Horrific toothache
Discussion
Forgot the 3 other injections they gave as the tramodol didn't work....at first. I currently have a memory span of 10 minutes and keep forgetting what day it is!
Hiya Rach, not been as my dentist isn't working until tomorrow, plus I was hoping the antibiotics will clear-up any infection.

Weed. Weed is a utterly fantastic painkiller for toothache.
When I had an infected tooth, and half my face swelled up like a balloon, weed completely and instantly got rid of the pain whereas Oramorph hardly made a dent.
Not saying that it's either available or attractive to you - but it's fabulously effective

Didn't help mine When I had an infected tooth, and half my face swelled up like a balloon, weed completely and instantly got rid of the pain whereas Oramorph hardly made a dent.

Tried synthetics too. Got really really stoned but I still had a toothache.
Just an update.
A&E sent me home with a load of pills and antibiotics. These had little effect.
Went to the dentist Sunday, and he x-rayed and showed me the worst tooth & gum infection he's seen in quite a while. He drilled holes in 2 teeth (no injections due to the infection/swelling) to relieve the pressure. 2 minutes later the pain went from 10 to a 7.
He gave me strong painkillers and bad-buoy antibiotics.
Back tomorrow for a root canal.
Honestly folks, get a slight twinge anywhere, get straight to the dentist. Don't feck around thinking it will go with painkillers of vino...it won't!
Thanks for listening.

I feel your pain OP!!
I have broken bones, had pneumonia, pleurisy, many operations, nothing was as bad as an abscess where the pressure was trapped!!!
I had three days of chronic pain, as I had a filling in a tooth that was infected (dentist didn't realise) , all the pus built up and I was in agony, when they drilled it out it was like ecstasy!

i've had this three times, in absolute agony all 3 times. there is just no real form of relief from the pain until the tooth gets drilled and the pressure gets released.
one of the infections on a tooth near the front had caused the gum to properly swell up, the dentist was worried drilling the tooth could have caused it to burst, so sad he could cut the gum, but this might be sore. i didnt feel a thing, but the instant relief when he cut the gum was amazing. this lasted about a second until i was nearly sick because of the smell!! i felt very sorry for the dentist and his assistants having to deal with that.

Glad you're on the mend! Which practice do you go to?
Cheers Rach. Went to a guy called Dr Bamboat (Banmy to his friends) in Jumeriah. Top bloke who treats you like a 5 year-old, which is important to me!Any news?
Going to see Lionel Richie tomo
Root canal is something you don't normally want to think about but when you have toothache you actually look forward to it, so nice coming out of the dentist with the pain gone. I found strong throat lozenges resting next to the tooth worked, gives a mild anaesthetic effect. Only happened to me once and of course it started on a Friday night with no dentists open till Monday.
