Anyone got any tips for dealing with runner's face? I don't actually run but I cycle. A lot...
I've dropped almost three stone from my peak and I'm at about my ideal weight, 13 stone and six foot tall. Six pack is all but back however my face is looking pretty gaunt.
I've been having circa 1600 calories net which can mean eating up to 4000 in a day when I do a big ride.
I'll be going up to 2000 net calories when I hit 12 stone 13 but it would be good to put a bit of fat back on my face

Happened to me. I got down to by BMI by losing 40lbs in six months. Felt good but looked 5 years older if not seriously unwell. The other thing was I was still playing a lot of team sport, football and cricket and I felt that I had lost so much power. Certainly did not enjoy being knocked off the ball more easily. It was weird that I felt slower at 12 and a half stone than at 15+.
My mother goes berserk with me when my training goes up and the weight drops off; it all comes off my face first.
Not a great deal you can do, I think. In order of fat loss I think it's face first, stomach last. Which is a shame because we'd all look better if it were the other way around!

Trouble is, it's never really an ideal solution to lose weight; a much better approach is to never gain the weight in the first place. The face is particularly susceptible to weight change and the longer you are overweight the more your skin will mould itself to your contours. When you do eventually lose the weight you find that your skin no longer fits your face - this effect is exacerbated the older you get.
Never get fat after 40 and don't be overweight for extended lengths of time in your 30s, easier said than done for some of us!

I get the same OP! Ive never been "fat" and always exercised all my life, last few years I have ramped up the cycling and my face does look gaunt. Overall only lost about a stone, but my face looks all "boney" , I dont notice till i see pictures and think "blimey" is that me, I've only ever been a stone heavier max anyway!
I also eat like a horse, usually have large breakfast of muesli porridge/ 4 x sandwiches or pasta for lunch and about 2 or 3 portions of food for dinner. I also have the odd binge day and have been known to polish off a whole cheesecake in one sitting! Loads of fruit and veg as well
As soon as I ease off the cycling, the weight goes back on (I'll still be "slim) and my misses says I look much better for it. According to Strava I'm doing circa 1000 calories an hour when I commute and I try and commute 3-5 times a week of an hour a day.
