Working out 3 times a day?
Discussion
Is it going to kill me to occasionally work out 3times in a day. I'm thinking of a swim in the morning, swim at lunch and some weights in the evening. I'm only thinking very occasionally, I often do two times a day but again not often.
Just tricky to fit things in all the time and I like to make sure I have one full rest day a week.

I've read that for maximum gainzzzzz you should do your cardio 12hrs before/after weights so in your case even if this statement is true I highly doubt you'll have any issues. Just tricky to fit things in all the time and I like to make sure I have one full rest day a week.
Just adjust your diet if something is wrong like losing weight/strength etc

Shouldn't be a problem at all - I regularly do at least two exercises a day - for example, 3 or 4 hours on the bike in the morning then a workout in the evening - proper hard. In the past also, turbo session classes and then before everyone's warmed down I'm changed into my football kit racing away for a game of 5-a-side league football, with a weights session thrown in too. As long as you're resting when you need to, it's easily do-able. Your body will soon get used to it.

fked in the head?
Only once and he told me he loved me: -)I'll probably do one endurance swim in the morning, so 5x 400m main set and at lunch do a threshold set of 18x 100m with short rest.
Weights I'm just doing light weights for high reps to increase endurance.
I'll take a couple of mars milks between

Rather than say it myself and get shouted at. read point 7: http://www.runnersworld.com/race-training/strength...
The OP's not a distance runner, and as you know training for swimming and distance running is completely different. Plenty of swimmers lift very heavy for short sets.On another note what the article doesn't say is that most distance runners have a higher than average slow twitch fibre % so even if they could lift 5x heavy and work fast twitch fibres it would make no difference.
Runnersworld is very good for general running stuff but it's not the place to pick up serious physiological advice.

Can't see a problem, just get plenty food in there to refuel!Just tricky to fit things in all the time and I like to make sure I have one full rest day a week.
Can't see why you would want to train 3 times a day though.

Want is probably not the correct word. Some days I have plenty of time to train, others I have to be in work early, to leave early to get the kids and look after them whilst the wife is at college. So some days I can have complete rest but I then need to squeeze more in on other days. I could do some at the weekend but that then eats into family time. Can't see why you would want to train 3 times a day though.
There are not enough hours in the day.
Anyway 2/3 done already today. Thankfully my weights session is legs later as my arms are aching now.
