6th letter ends in R

Clue Meat and fish is good for growth and .......?

The R on the connecting word looks like energy hence the R. Carbs, fats and sugars give us ? I know fats dont give us energy but what else could it be. 6 letters also

Fats do give us energy. Not sure about the first one - "health" would have been my guess.
