Sonic toothbrushes - worth it?

Been using my oral b johnny for a while now. Teeth felt noticeably 'cleaner' immediately - perhaps my manual method was not up to scratch but either way, I'm looking forward to next check-up to see if my dentist notices. Probably saves on toothpaste too - I've always filled the head but now the head is half the size.

whats the thoughts on compatible heads for oral b brushes?
I've used the "compatible" and genuine Oral B heads and find the "compatible" ones (a) usually aren't much cheaper and (b) don't seem to last as long. I ended up buying 4-packs of the genuine "floss-action" type.Monty Python said:
Are they genuine Braun ones? Link please :-)

A couple of months ago I listened to an interview (on Radio 4, so it must be true) with the 'Chief Dentist'.
He was asked about electric toothbrushes and repeated several times, that they provide no cleaning advantage whatsoever over a regular toothbrush. Whichever you use, you should ensure you brush for two full minutes, twice a day, according to his Lord Molarness.

True, but they provide a large effort saving over a manual toothbrush and are less reliant on good technique. And really the price difference isn't large (given how much manual toothbrushes seem to cost these days). He was asked about electric toothbrushes and repeated several times, that they provide no cleaning advantage whatsoever over a regular toothbrush.
