A journey through a heart attack and out the other side
Discussion
I never had the pleasure to meet DMN but I had the pleasure of his posts; a man of kind and humble words and who's utter straightforward decency shone through.
This forum is stronger and better for that which he shared with us; he paved the way for many others to discuss difficult times in their lives and many of his posts were of great support to a great many.
DMN, may you rest in peace and I hope your family have all the support they can at what must be an immensely difficult time. Godspeed, good sir.

After getting home from work, I was hoping & praying that I had somehow fallen asleep at work & that this had been some horrible dream! I realised pretty quickly that it wasn't. Such a terrible shame & as others have mentioned, I just feel numb & in total shock. I can echo what others have said about his contributions on PH but for me the thing that stood out the most was his ability to almost make everything seem ok even when he was going through hell a couple of years ago, he still took the time to somehow make you feel happy & welcome! Life can be so cruel at times & this is a prime example of that & hand on heart I can genuinely say that I have never felt so saddened by the sad loss of somebody I never actually met, but somebody I will always call my mate! Keep looking down on us mate & we will never forget you xxx
Saw this on Russell's Facebook, couldn't really work it out.. Took a few attempts at reading it to work out what was going on.
Then I realised.
Russ helped me when he found out my dad had died, gave me help and advice, online. I eventually met him at a DD meet up, he was an incredible person - truly brilliant. He touched so many people's lives, helped countless people.
Im absolutely gutted.
Thoughts are with his family.
RIP Russell.
