Not what I was expecting smile

Id actually recommend going to an NHS specialist who doesn't do private work and ask about the treatments you mention.

With no conflict of interest to generate cash he/she should give you impartial expert advice on what actually works

Good luck
yeah, I was diagnosed at 38 year old to. The NHS ENT consultant was surprised by my sleep study results. When I went for the operation on my nose I had to have a high dependency bed due to the apnea. When the anaesthetist came to see me pre op he was surprised I had sleep apnea. I dont fit the usual profile of a sleep apnea patient.

I have tried that, had my last appointment with the NHS ENT consultant last week. He had previously suggested the pillar procedure. As I couldnt find this in the UK. I asked him if I should travel to get it done (Poland) or try another treatment in the UK. He sort of backed out, saying I should see a private specialist in Harley street with the added caveat that there was nothing wrong in travelling to Poland to get treatment.
So I guess I need to decide if I travel and have a pillar procedure or go see a private consultant in the UK for a laser treatment LAUP. I doubt each specialist is going to stop me and recommend the other procedure?

Found another procedure now as well…..a Coblation assisted uvulopalatoplasty CAUP…..

Recently had a sleep test, got an AHI score of 81 !!! Mixture of Obstructive and brain events (cant remember the correct term, sorry).
I have a few long term conditions but my day to day health is decent, BMI 29, regular walks, can run 3 miles in 30 minutes.
Got my CPAP machine at the weekend, managed to sleep through with it last night smile
I have been refereed to ENT as I have historic and current nasal issues.

81 is a good effort!

Glad you're managing to sleep. You'll feel like a new man in a couple of days time.

It is great that you got diagnosed when you have that big AHI. Hope the CPAP machine is not one of the Philips ones that is problematic ( https://www.philips.co.uk/healthcare/resources/lan... ). These are the problematic devices : https://www.philips.co.uk/healthcare/resources/lan...
I got one of these too frown

I've got a F&P SleepStyle Auto - seems to be quite fancy as far as CPAP machines go. I have been supplied with Philips masks though (the top of head pipe mount is a great design as I can flip side to side without getting tangled).
My AHI has been between 4 and 16 with the machine on, which is a huge drop.
First 2 nights I only managed a few hours at a time, then I managed 4 hours, then 5 hours and last night was closer to 6.
I found I can't sleep without the exhalation pressure relief mode and the ramp mode works great, backs off pressure when it senses I am awake.
