I'm more of a savoury man, love a sandwich and crisps, but I can avoid them, however I do love a chocolate HobNob, I think it is the instant hit it gives you.

Currently in work, bored and so close to going to get a can of Coke and a Bounty.

One thing the last few months have taught me is, that though I would love that Coke and Bounty because my blood sugar is demanding them, can think of little else.

If you have something else, you can easily quell that urge with something good, you wont think an Apple and a cup of coffee would do it, but it will, its a bit like going out to your Supercar and remembering you are in a courtesy Supermini but it will still get you home and save you 350 calories.

So easy to get hungry, then overshoot because your body is demanding the hard stuff, and loads of it, the weird thing is though, that 400 plus cals of Coke plus Bounty doesnt last, in terms of energy levels 8 times longer than the Apple.

Not a fair swap, but depends how much we want to be slim.

Stuff like that was originally an occasional treat, it is overkill for mid afternoon peckishness.

Funnily enough I have been good; just polished off a black coffee and an apple, hopefully I'll be able to soldier on until 6:00.

Why does the bad stuff taste so good!!!!

Argghh, 14.10 again, if this was a competition for being the exact same weight every single day, I would be in with a shout.

Feeling leaner but the scale doesnt move and neither are the body fat and muscle things on it, am feeling pretty lean (by my standards) so fairly happy but been the same weight for a month or so now, it was coming off steadily from September, then boom, abrupt stop, do three days on 2k calories or not much more, cycle to work, go to the gym, walk the dog etc, and nothing, 13 and a half almost seems further away than it did at 18 stone !

Just had two rounds of toast with Nutella on and a big sulk biggrin

And I'm on holiday next week, where I have given myself the week off, so i'll be drinking and eting as I please. I was hoping this week would see me lose a kg to compoensate for next weeks gain!

I think this is why Joe Wicks calls it a sad step, and advises taking photos instead. If you feel better, are doing exercise, and your clothes fit better/you look different, then there's a difference. Hurrah! Granted, you're screwed for this friendly competition, but hey ho!

Do you use any other measurements (e.g. waist, hip) that might provide a bit more data?

How the hell does a scale know what someone's body fat is doing? Is it a real measurement of something? Genuine Q, I'm no Luddite but can't use the standard sort so not really familiar with the tech.

A little example of daily weight fluctuations for you all. Going against most advice relating to monitoring weight, I opt to weigh myself first thing, every morning, post-pee but before I eat or drink anything.

Monday I was 99.0 kg. Wednesday 98.8, Thursday 97.4 (post Jiu Jitsu), this morning 97.8.

Apologies, I cant remember Tuesdays reading.

5 and a bit lb off seeing a 14 on the scale, feeling quite lean, muscle definition starting to appear (although I've retained much of my mass due to a sensible rate of weight loss).

Good luck all.

Yep I weigh myself first thing, post pee and dump and pre eating or drinking anything (maybe a swig of water that is by the bed) this morning I was 99.4 on Tuesday I was 99.9 and I know a few days before hand I was in the 100's.

So the past few days of being very good and not giving in, have resulted in me dropping half a kilo.

great effort

I just get a bit disparaged that a poo & piss can result in a +/- 1kg difference in weight

It uses resistance, "Bio Impedance", i.e. different body compositions give different readings, it isnt super accuarate but I started at like 35 percent and am hovering now at 20 or so, so it has registered that I have lost fat. Get the Ozeri ones off Amazon for £30 ish, you just tell it your age and weight and it weighs you then calculates what it thinks is your fat and muscle.

I use clothes to gauge, wearing 34 inch waist jeans, that when I got them were too snug, fit fine now and can wear them all day, pants behave much better when you are slimmer, bit of a revelation, you can wear tighter ones so the friction keeps them up and I guess if its vertical surface its easier for them to hold onto than more of an angle, much less adjustment required.

My PT has made some measurements, doing body fat with calipers on wednesday, so will see how that compares to the scales, looking at the pictures online I would say the 20 percent is fairly accurate.

Oh, and women definitely check you out more when you are slimmer, not blowing my own trumpet there and I am no Brad Pitt but it happens, so many blokes, including me a few months back are desperately out of shape, back in the seventies I would still be fat, but nowadays it is amazing how many people, not just men are in pretty dreadful shape, its a shame as live is much more enjoyable when you are fitter and thinner, for those that arent, try to avoid the short term pleasure of food, booze and the couch, the denial and pain to improve it is so, so worth it, and for those who are fit and think appreciate it, it is a precious and wonderful thing, dont lose it.

73.0 for me this morning. Heading in the right direction again, though my food quality over the weekend was patchy.

First weigh-in on Sunday morning, post a large Chinese on Friday evening and a Franka Manca on Saturday night before the golf (pus a bottle or 2 of red)...

Managed to clock a 120.9 kg weight, so down 2.1kg on my 123kg Tuesday morning weight (starting) and broadly in line with my immeidately post-cardio weight. Lets hope the rest falls off!

80-80.5kg, target is 75kg by the 2nd July.

Seem to be combining healthy low cal eating with spectacular failure on unhealthy snacking. Need to get MFP on the ipad again as it worked 3 years ago 92kg > 82kg in 6 months.

Bah. Shocking couple of days, no MFP tracking, ate far too much food (snacking) and didn't get to the gym Saturday, Sunday, Monday or Tuesday - compounded by a terrible sleep routing of going to bed late and waking up late / unmotivated.

Weighed in today at 98.1kg (up from 97.7kg last Thursday) so I'll count myself lucky if that's the only damage. Dragged myself out of bed this morning for a decent leg session, also at BJJ tonight so I expect to weigh in a little lower tomorrow morning (mostly water but hey ho).

Finally got round to booking a holiday for August in the sun. I will be in the best shape I've ever been in, just a case of staying the course.

Hope everyone is going well.

Been eating well but not making enough time for training, weight is coming off a little however, weighed in at 120.9kg's yesterday morning and 120.0 dead after a very short gym session, meaning a loss of ~2kg so far...a long way to go to my 90kg target though!

14.9 (93 kilos), fluctuation still between 14.8 and 14.12 as per yesterday, three pound difference in one day.

Feel crap today, went to bed hungry, woke up really hungry (usually goes away) so had Nutella on toast, still feel bleargh.

Do ok through the week, then bugger it up at the weekend by having a few drinks, going out for a meal etc, if I am down at my target and monitor my weight that isnt a problem but need to get to the target weight, heartening that I can do it but seem to have gone into maintain mode a stone too early, getting ready to book a week away so that will bring it into focus.

PT session this afternoon, hopefully will have a bit more energy by then.

Need to try and do some damage limitation over the Bank Holiday, am off for a week after so going to batter the gym.

Am refitting my man shed/gym, getting a new carpet (currently random bits) fixing some damage to the roof and throwing a load of crap out,t he missus collects hundreds of book, now on a bookshelf in there, been there years and she hasnt ever looked at them, so making her go through them, she will deem them all essential but one way or another they are going, got my eye on a Cross trainer, any suggestions, quite like the Cross trainer and 30 mins on one, on a decent level has me dripping in sweat and does seem to promote weight loss.

Due my monthly weigh next Tuesday, I think.

Went a bit off-piste for a couple of days visiting family and celebrating a birthday - don't *think* I went horrendously overboard, but I don't seem that good at judging it yet. Time will tell!
