Contact Lenses?

Anyone order contact lenses off the internet? Currently paying £33 a month for basic Vision Express daily disposals, but it adds up fast. Is it cheaper to get them online as opposed to Vision express & the ilk? Anyone tried it?

Just paid £140 ish for 6 months of daily disposables (plus 2 months free on latest offer) from Costco

You'll need an eye yest and a contact lens check-up at £14.99. Been with them for years.

Order 3 months worth for £33 from Vision Direct, just used my last o and will pop for an eye test once per year!

Go and have a word with VE. Exactly what I did, and threatened to move next door to Specsavers. I'm now on their 'friends & family' scheme and paying £25.90 a month for the next ones up from the basic ones..

I get mine from http://www.visiondirect.co.uk - they've been reliable and reasonably priced for what I want. Bear in mind that you'll need to factor in the cost of an eye test / check up and solutions and stuff as well, if you go down that route...

I've been using Daysoft for years and they've been great! It's only £12 for a months supply so I'd definitely recommend giving them a go.

Another vote for Daysoft disposables. Great value at £12 a month. Save a fortune.

Be aware, though, that their lenses can sometimes crack or splinter. The quality is good, but not as good as the more-expensive ones from J&J, etc.

Daysoft for me too, They begin to dry and feel uncomfortable after about 12 hours so if I'm staying up late or going out I tend to put another set in after work. £12.98 for a month's supply.

As Vision Express just upped my monthly fee to £32 for daily disposables thought I'd check out the online companies mentioned above.

High St Vision Express 40 lenses £32 ie 80p each
Internet order Vision Direct 60 £48 79p .

It doesn't add up, with the high st VE I get free eye checks every 2 years included also?

Tried Daysoft, made my eyes really sore after only one day so binned them.

Might try Costco when my current supply run out.

Vision Direct (VD) is not very cheap. Just looked at Acuvue TruEye -- cheapest (even with ~10% discount) for 1 month's supply at VD is ~£34, while somewhere like eOpticians is ~£29.

Specsavers. I pay £15 a month for monthly disposable toric lenses with solutions and annual check up.

£18 a month on DD for lenses, solution, checkups amd discount on glasses because of DD.

Been paying this for over 10 years now.
