Last weigh-in until September for me and thankfully it’s a minus not a plus which really would get my annual leave off to a bad start. Down 0.7 kg to 74.85 which means I’m 65% of the way there to my goal for this quarter. The question is can I keep this off over the next fortnight.

Normally I’d think sod it, I’m on holiday but I’m so close to my target weight it’d be a shame to have too much of a setback (I expect to put on some weight). Therefore I’m going to try and exercise every day, sensible eating Monday to Thursday and then allow myself treats Friday to Sunday. Hopefully this way I won’t do too much damage. Time will tell I guess.

Question for those of you who aren’t seeing any weight loss; are you tracking how much you’re eating on a daily basis? There’s apps out there to help you do this although just writing it down or recording on a spreadsheet is just as good. I got a shock when I did it as I found I was regularly consuming at least a 50% more calories than my recommended daily amount. Seeing that on my spreadsheet is still a motivation to stop myself from overdoing it – well most of the time laugh

Another good session in the gym. Legs are feeling it today from Thursday though, fine if I'm walking but as soon as I stop I'm walking like I've st myself. Starting to notice a difference, clothes are looser and down a belt hole.

Did however stop in TGI Friday with a mate. Had a bit of a blow out, steak and chips with some chocolate cake. My first chocolate in nearly a month! God it was good.

Back to the gym tomorrow though.

With body fat % scales...how reliable are they? First time I did it I was 31.4%. Second time was 44.3%, despite losing weight. Then down to 37.2% and then today it was 28.7%.

All are done weekly at similar times of the day. The second and third one seem to be massively out. Just seems strange.

Having had a quick look at how body fat % scales work there's too many variables that could interfere with the reading so I'm not sure I'd trust them. If the ones you're using work by bioelectrical impedance then they will be affected by body temp and hydration at a very minimum.

I am 2.5kg up thanks to my holiday. Could be worse I suppose!

I have a week now to get some of it off via IF before the next trip.

Worked hard to drop down to 118.6kg on Friday morning but went camping this weekend so reckon I'm at least 2 and a half kilos up in food and drink weight frown

They just give an indication, you can see whether you are going down over time, I have gone from 21 to 22 and that matches the fact I feel a bit fatter.

God the gym was busy today. Don't like it like that at all. Need to get my arse in gear and get up earlier!

Overall a good workout. 7.24 miles on the bike in 24 minutes. Can see a massive improvement in my fitness in that regards.

Chest and triceps today.

Pushed myself hard today...going to feel it tomorrow. Not there tomorrow, but back Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Weekend off and going to find a new plan as the four week one I've done has finished. Not sure if I want to start it again.

True, but then clothes size also give a pretty good indication biggrin

I'm having a lazy day today which goes against all my grand plans to carry on trying to lose weight whilst on holiday. Oh well, I'll try and get out for a run later

Not posted in here since my original post. Reading back now I realised I wrote it out wrong I did start at 241lbs (17.1 stone), I got down to 236 (16.8 stone) from a bit of bike riding commuting a few miles. So when I posted I was 236lbs and I would like to see 220 minimum.

Weighed myself this morning after a morning pee and I was 227lbs (16.2 stone) so I'm on my way.

I only really pop to the gym in the mornings currently before work for a quick half hour of cardio and I walk to work which from the gym is 4 miles. If the weather is ok I walk home too which is 3 miles.

Can't wait to atleast break the 15 stone mark in terms of body fat, although I do want to start doing some weights too but my aim is weight loss for bike riding.

Strained a lower disc in the gym on Monday so been laid up at home since frown

Hoping this doesn't hamper progress too much!

Speedy recovery smile.

I woke up at 4 to go to the gym before work...I couldn't be bothered so went back to sleep. Annoyed at myself. Got to work hard tomorrow now.

I weighed myself today and I've achieved 1.6 kilos off since Sunday. I've more travel planned so will be away from the scales for a while again

I haven't dared weigh myself yet but I know from my jeans it's not going to be good. Unfortunately I didn't stick to my good intentions and it's actually quite worrying how easy it was to slip back into the old bad habits. I still have another week off but back home now so the aim is again to be good Monday to Thursday, exercise every day (including the morning core work that has stopped because of the lie-ins) and only allow alcohol and treats at the weekend

Wish me luck

Good luck - if you can get up and out at normal work times, that may help keep you occupied and away from the fridge

Oh definitely. The alarm is already set for 7.30 tomorrow morning although that is more because I need to take the car to the garage for its MOT (bank holidays are largely ignored up here). I intend to take the long route back walking briskly and then fill the day painting fences and sheds. hopefully that will stop me from raiding the cupboards for crisps and the fridge for cheese

Right this hot weather has reminded me how much I need to do this. Those couple of stone means I’m fking sweating and hot all the bloody time. Hate it. And before I put it on I used to love hot weather!

A week and a half of no exercise and eating and drinking for 4 days solid over the weekend whilst the gfs dad was back from spain has put me nearly 5kg up! Hopefully all the water and food weight drops off soon!

Up 1.3 kg to 76.15. I'm trying not to beat myself up about it but knowing it will take me a minimum of 2 weeks to lose what only took a week to put on is very annoying.

The good thing is I didn't snack at all yesterday and didn't feel hungry either. The plans for today are to continuing painting fences and go rejoin the community gym so when the bad weather comes I can't use it as an excuse not to exercise
