Huel food. Any good?
Discussion
Looks like the next iteration (v3.0) will be launched in a couple of weeks, along with a price increase.

I have some being delivered today, but I might stick an order in at the end of next week. (Although there'll probably v2.3 available until it's sold through.)

Been using Huel for the last 6 months - not for weight loss but to be a bit more healthy, stop me from eating crap at work and to save money on lunches.
So far its done everything I've wanted and has resolved a problem that had with my knee's that I've had for the last 2-3 years. Burning pain behind knee caps, clicking and popping when standing up and having to keep stretching out my legs when resting to ease the pain, burning after jogging etc and I'd almost dread having to bend down or get on my knees to do anything butafter a month of using Huel I noticed that my knee's were much. much better and now I have no pain, can do anything I like without pain and the clicking/popping is reducing slowly.
I use 2-3 scoops for breakfast, same for lunch and a normal evening meal, snacks etc

Interesting - so a meal is now going to be 400kcal with v3 instead of 500kcal on v2.
I’ll probably order a v3 just to try it, but got plenty of v2 to get through.
Although it talks about change from 500kcal to 400kcal, I understood the suggestion to be 3 scoops which is 456kcal so not quite the 100 kcal difference they are quoting, in change. I’ll probably order a v3 just to try it, but got plenty of v2 to get through.
Might just keep using old scoop if the same kcal for given weight as V2.3
Huel have released a new "Black" version of the powder. More protein and less carbs. Whilst not a weight loss product, I suspect this new black mix will be better for weight loss (although I have not yet ordered)
£10 off from the link below - let me know how you get on with the Black

I have just ordered the Black version. The normal Huel made me feel lethargic and gave me heart burn, so lets see if this any better. I hope it does as I am spending far to much money on crap for my lunches during the week.
I dont eat breakfast but have a pretty crap lunch most days. If I can Huel lunch and eat my normal dinners then it is going to help.

Seen adverts for this all over the tinternet for a while now, never really took much interest as I assumed it was just another Protein shake. But this looks a little more interesting.
So thought i'd give the black edition a go to replace my sandwich at lunch each day. Not hopeful that the free XXL T-shirt is gonna fit me though :-)
Want to lose 3-4 stone by the summer, hopefully this will help.

Eat 2500calories worth of it every day minimum spread across 5 x 500cal shakes + a couple of scoops of whey protein spread across the 5 shakes to flavour it. It tastes alright. A lot of people have said it makes them feel like they've got more energy, etc, but never felt any different, presumably because of my hormonal imbalance, but it's convenient and easy so i'm sticking to it.
I still eat solid meals, generally have something on a Friday night, Saturday night, a roast dinner on a Sunday and then leftovers on a Monday.

Huel is not a protein shake but a shake to replace you most inconvenient meal - i.e for people that skip breakfast and have a sandwich/ bag of crisps and a choc bar for lunch - that is what Huel say.
Huel that is blended is certainly less grainy than shaken - normal (V2) and black (haven't tried V3). Chocolate is the best in my opinion as it works well with a shot of espresso or instant coffee - turns it into a mocha; and works well with a banana blended in too.
I haven't tried the flavour boosts. Banana flavour was a disappointed for me. The most convenient is the RTG Huel (Ready to Go in bottles) which is sold in most Sainsburys at the sandwich counter however quite expensive - still cheaper than a sandwich, crisps, choc etc.
If you are interested - try my link. You get £10 off your first order and so do I. https://huel.mention-me.com/m/ol/jb6va-fd2125c539

Added some espresso to mine for tomorrow morning. Wow! Thanks for the tip! Huel that is blended is certainly less grainy than shaken - normal (V2) and black (haven't tried V3). I have now consumed about 4 bags over the last 2 months, and got fairly used to it. Definitely worth trying for a few days rather than just once. I am more than happy to keep going with it for work lunches Mon to Fri and then eat normal meals around it. Have also tried vitbomb recently which is basically the same stuff, so will use what's best deal and mix and match.
Use either coffee, or nesquick to flavor as cheaper than flavour boosts, and much quicker less prep than fruit etc that require blending.

Interesting, thank you. Use either coffee, or nesquick to flavor as cheaper than flavour boosts, and much quicker less prep than fruit etc that require blending.
What is the price differential between Vit-Bomb and Huel?
