(Bumping this thread, having read the first and last few pages, thinking about switching to Huel for breakfast and lunch)

Anyone here using the unflavoured version with savoury flavourings? I'm OK with the idea of having fruity/coffee/chocolate ones from time to time, but would quite like something different. Not sure what would work - soy sauce, tomato puree, etc? I'd be using it with a Breville blender.

Ideas please!

Thanks - code still worked for me. 90 days to order, too.

I've been having "the Black edition" every lunchtime for a week or so now.

Got to say I like the texture, and I like both flavours. I find it very filling, and I'm not getting any cravings an hour later.

It does however seem to be giving me horrendous WIND !! But I'm hoping this might settle down after a couple of weeks. If it doesn't I'll have no friends left, or colleagues will to work with me ;-)
Just a follow up on this, I was beginning to find the Huel was giving me stomach ache within 20-30mins of drinking, this was varying between mild discomfort to very uncomfortable, so I was using it less and less. Anyway I didn't use it at all for about 3 months due to not being at work over the lockdown, and had no problems at all over that time.

So being back in the routine of work and having forgotten about the wind & stomach ache problems Id had previously, about a week or so ago I went back to using the Huel for lunch.

Sure enough within 20-30mins, I had a mild stomach ache again, so decided to bin the remainder of the bag I had in my drawer, in case it had "gone bad".

So yesterday I opened up a new sealed bag and had lunch, and within 20-30mins I was in pain, not just a mild stomach ache, it was so bad I was shaky, and even feeling a bit dizzy. Still feeling extremely unwell when I got home from work, I went straight to bed without dinner, and slept right through to the morning.

Needless to say the new bag has also gone in the bin now, and there ends my (rather expensive) experiment with Huel.

Anybody else experienced similar ??

Not had anything like that, with it replacing maybe 66% of all meals over 2 and a bit years now. How much were you having in a serving and how much water?

Well I certainly lost weight using it, made me st myself thin! Shame as I quite liked the vanilla flavour.

2 scoops, with 600ml water. Think that's pretty much as prescribed, and only for lunch, not breakfast or dinner.

Sorry TL:DR

Has anyone tried to make the equivalent themselves?

Tempted but wanted someone here to try it first.

They need to do a trial pack. I'm not spending £55 & risk finding out it tastes like toenail clippings.

Exactly. I’d spend £10-15 on a little bag to try. I couldn’t off load it anywhere if it was horrible.

While I love (vanilla) Huel and have been using it daily for 3 years now, but everything else they've made (the bars, the granola, the 'black edition') tastes pretty ropey IMHO. I'll be giving this one a miss I think.

Yep. I've been drinking Huel shakes for a few years, going through periods of one or two a day, so when I saw this I thought I'd give it a go.

Thai Green curry is pretty spicy (which is fine by me) but doesn't thicken up as much as the Tomato and Basil. Both taste absolutely fine. Thought there might have been an 'odd taste'/ 'odd after taste' but taste... normal.

Thumbs up from me but could do with some more variety a bit further down the line.

Is it like a pot pasta?
Just add hot water?

Having tried a few bags of Huel a couple of years ago I have bought another couple of bags.

Am quite enjoying replacing breakfast with it as I definitely do not get snack cravings during the morning now. I usually go for vanilla with half a banana chucked in and blended.

MIght try to replace most lunches too. Just need to get a blender at the office.

Yep they give you a pot with the first order, couple of scoops and about 200ml of boiling water (there is a line inside the pot).

It's more like grains and lentils that swell up. The green thai one is closer to a chunky soup i'd say.....

I wasn’t too keen on the consistency so have started filling up to about 5mm below the line, much better.

I’m quite impressed with the flavour of the Thai one, haven’t opened the tomato yet.

I've had the thai green curry - love it, wish the bag was bigger but if you place an order of the normal Huel (white or black) you can add a bag of the Thai curry/tomato - originally you had to buy 3 bags, not sure if thats still the case.

Looks like a pot noodle, tastes good & fills me up.

I’ve been having My Protein Fuel for breakfast, half semi skimmed milk, half water, two level scoops and whizzed up in a blender.

The urge to snack on office biscuits throughout the day has totally vanished.

I’ve been training and cycling to compliment the above and eating huge amounts of chicken breast, veg and fruit and lost 2 stone in 5 weeks.

I couldn’t get on with Huel, the Fuel chocolate flavour works better for me and it’s cheaper.
