Huel food. Any good?

Equally as embarrassing, their customer base don't realise they could simply buy an MRP from any supplement company for half the price!
I think you are going to need to provide some evidence for that claim, especially the 'half price' bit. They only real alternative to Huel that I can find is 'Whole Fuel' by My Protein.
It is designed to be a direct rival to Huel, hence the name.
My Protein are, as I'm sure you know, a massive and well known supplement company and producer of these kinds of things.
However a fairly detailed comparison of both products found that nutritionally, whilst very similar, Huel was slightly better as it contains less sugar.
Also, both products cost almost exactly the same per serving.
The flavour and mixing of Huel was noted to be better than Whole Fuel.
See full comparison here:

By all means, if you find something that is nutritionally the same as Huel, and considerably cheaper, please post it as I would be interested.
But for the moment, I can't see any suitable alternatives?

As above, please post links to directly equivalent products that are half the price: I'm genuinely interested as I use Huel every day. Please note we're not just after carbs, it's the whole balanced formulation that's important.Hopefully you'll be able to back up your assertion with some solid evidence.
There's a real split between people who like it and people who think it's like cold sick.
I think it hugely depends on how you prepare it and what you mix it with. With some frozen fruit, blitzed up in a NutriBullet, I think it could actually be one of my favourite things.
Badly shaken with water, no flavouring, I'd rather pull my own teeth out.

When i spoke with My Protein regarding Whole Fuel, My Protein said that they don't recommend just consuming Whole Fuel only without fuel as it wasn't meant as a complete meal replacement. Huel, they have pretty much said you can live off of the stuff without eating any solid food which a few people do.They only real alternative to Huel that I can find is 'Whole Fuel' by My Protein.

My sister bought a bag of Huel earlier this year which has been passed around the entire family as everyone that has tried it has found it revolting. I gave it a go and had to agree, it's properly vile.
Which flavour is it? If it's the unflavoured/unsweetened one then i likened it to trying to drink pancake batter or yorkshire pudding mix. I use the vanilla or coffee flavour mixed with chocolate whey proteinEdited by Regiment on Friday 5th October 16:20

Utter nonsense. Read the "What Percentage" paragraph on this page:https://uk.huel.com/pages/how-to-use
Huel are not espousing living on Huel alone but suggest using it for one or two of your daily meals, especially if one of those would normally be a rubbish burger or similar at lunchtime.

Nice try but why include the special 30% discount for Whole Fuel? Are you sure you'll get this every time? The results

If anything 33-40% is more likely to be used when buying from somewhere like bulk powders or myprotein.
edit:
You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.
I'm out.

It's like anything I suppose, you either like that kind of thing or you don't.If I tried to eat a raw tomato, a plum, or a grape, I would probably vomit, yet most people would enjoy them.
To me, Huel just tastes like vanilla flavoured Weetabix or porridge, only slight more runny. So perfectly edible, and I just mix it in a shaker with cold tap water. I don't use a blender or chilled water or anything like that.
Years ago when I went to the gym 3 times a week, I used to chug down quite a few protein shakes, and some were really bad back then... so maybe my palate is just used things like that!

I remember those drinks used to be disgusting, things like carob flavour. THey they became amazing with mtrx and the like, then they all went downhill when sugar was dropped in favour of stty artificial flavours.
THere was a point in time when they tasted like the best milkshakes.
Exactly that.THere was a point in time when they tasted like the best milkshakes.
They were vile for years, then there was an explosion in Protein powders and meal replacement shakes, they were delicious, and now pretty mediocre again... but probably much better for you.

Just started using Huel for breakfast and lunch, with a proper dinner.
Mostly using it as a way of avoiding eating a big sandwich, crisps and a cake for lunch, which I would probably do otherwise.
Lugging around 10kg too many at the moment despite a fairly active lifestyle (100 miles per week on the bike) so I'm hoping that a few months of this regime will put me on the right path.
I've been getting gradually better at mixing - just had coffee Huel with cacao nibs and a teaspoon of cacao powder, blitzed with ice in a NutriBullet. Went down a bloody treat, like a nice frothy milkshake.

It's part of my lifestyle now. I'm down 7kg since the summer but this has plateaued, mostly due to not sticking to a calorie count for the rest of the day.
I'm just finishing my fourth bag and have already broken into bags 5 and 6 (fourth bag was unflavoured/unsweetened which I just couldn't get on with. 5 and 6 are vanilla and coffee respectively).
I couldn't eat it for three meals a day, like some people do, but I absolutely love it for breakfast and I'm perfectly happy with it for lunch as well probably 2-3 days a week.
The biggest thing it's done is stopping me from eating big hotel buffet breakfasts and junk supermarket sandwiches for lunch, because it provides a simple alternative which I actually fancy.

I am on week 2 of using Huel. I have never eaten breakfast so I use it purely for lunch at the moment. I have 1 shake for lunch which in reality stops me eating crap at lunch like Supermarket sandwich deals, Mcdonalds etc and it also saves me around £4 to £5 a day, so at the moment its pretty good.
The taste isn't too bad (Vanilla). I mix it the night before and store in the fridge and take it to work. I also mix it quite thick as i like it so I don't feel completely robbed, as in a weird way I can almost chew it lol. I eat a normal meal at night.
I have 2 problems with it though. I get heartburn and I also feel really lethargic for about an hour after drinking it which is strange as it don't contain any crap and its not over portioned. I need to experiment with the amount due to feeling lethargic afterwards plus I need some Gaviscon.
After the two above negatives I really don't feel hungry and I look forward to drinking/chewing it. I probably wont go 100% Huel as I like my food on the evening and beer but It does certainly help me at lunch both save money and stops me eating crap. I think I could go 100% though certainly Monday to Friday afternoon.
