Money can't buy exposure for Huel today, currently 4th in the top 10 most read BBC News articles...

It certainly isn't cheap, especially not any more. In my experience only the equivalent products at MyProtein are actually substantially cheaper than any quick, healthy meal you could knock together.

I've just chucked 3 out of date bags in the bin. WFH I find I can make a decent meal for the same calories as a Huel.

Can't see me ever going back to it tbh.

It certainly is cheap and whilst the advert can be classed as misleading, you have to really want to be mislead, it says pretty clearly ‘34 meals’

You can certainly make decent 400 calorie meals, a big part of the appeal (to those who find Huel appealing) is the convenience and removal of thought.

I quite like it and it fits my lifestyle well. Time poor most of the time. I usually have a shake or one of the hot meals for lunch.

Carbonara is also lovely.

Thai green curry not so good. Too wet and grainy. Needs some chicken laugh

I find Huel Black vanilla made with unsweetened almond milk a great breakfast alternative. Time will tell how it fits in with a lowish carb (< 75g) approach.

The Carbonara is ok, not tried the Thai Green Curry.
The Mac & Cheese was great but the new recipe has been slammed by most so haven't bothered with it.
Mexican Chilli is really good as is Pasta Bolognaise.

Ive mainly been using water but almond milk or skim milk now and then.
Which flavours are you using?
Vanilla not for me, Banana, Cinnamon and Cookies & Cream all good.

Just had the Chicken & Mushroom - squired a bit of Perinaisse in to spice it up - delicious!

I have been using Huel for a number of years now, but only just tried the hot versions. I ordered the mac n cheese, carbonara and Thai green curry. The Thai curry and m&c were decent and I would order again. The carbonara went in the bin.

Weird. I thought the Thai Green was awful (too grainy) but loved the Carbonara.

The Huel forum is full of wide ranging opinions, people who live one flavour but hate another to the point of illness and throwing away.
I use it every day and am primarily attracted to the nutritional profile and convenience but the flavours are on a spectrum from ‘yeah quite nice’ to ‘meh, probably wouldn’t choose that one again’.

I like the Black Salted caramel and the Mac and cheese has grown on me. I'll probably order some more soon so might try some other flavours. It's very suitable for the transient kind of work I'm doing, and eating at times I need to.

I've noticed a Huel vending machine in Manchester! Need to see if they have any flavours other than the usual 3 in Sainsbury's.

The Black Salted Caramel is nice, I’ve just had a delivery and first time I’ve tried it.
The Mac & Cheese was good but the recipe has changed and feedback has been very negative so not ordered any of the new type.

I finally buckled at the beginning of the month, always felt it was a bit of a fad but ordered a bag of black edition salted caramel and black edition coffee caramel.

I replaced my usual toast or cereal with a shake and after a few days my usual sandwich with another shake. Im trying to do Monday to Friday with shakes and weekends just breakfast.

I’ve really enjoyed them and find it keeps me full for at least 4 hours, I’ve then found breakfast is more brunch as my evening meals I’ve not reduced in size but clearly need to as I'm just not hungry the next morning.

I’ve felt I’ve had more energy and I don’t snack at all now (except it seems the days I don’t have huel!).

So after 3 weeks including a few drinking sessions and eating out at shows I’ve managed to lose nearly 5Ib with no change in my relatively sedate life. So I’m now converted.

The meals like the carbonara are people using that as an evening meal alternative or just as a replacement for a shake?

I have them for lunch. I ran out a couple of weeks ago though and have now lapsed back in to sandwiches and crappy carb-heavy food. You've just motivated me to put another order in!

I use the Hot & Savoury meals as well as Black Edition.
Like all Huel you can certainly view them as being a meal, though you may want to adjust the serving size to up the calories as it sounds like you are eating three meals a day and 1200 calories is unlikely to be enough. I eat five or six meals a day and around 3000 calories.
