But how do you make the rhubarb crumble? Rhubarb is quite bitter on its own and usually gets a lot of sugar added to it when cooking it . Rhubarb itself is very low in carbs so if you can eat it as it is, crack on, there are keto friendly crumble recipes to be found online, but if you need to add some sort of sugar to sweeten up the taste you're best avoiding it.
Where did I say that I didnt put sugar on rhubarb crumble? Still loving my new air fryer - best thing I've bought in a long time.
Drench the belly in olive oil and salt, chuck it in basket, set 55 mins at a low 160C and that's how it comes out without needing to touch it. Crackling is perfect for me as I like the inner side to still be a bit squidgy and not rock hard. The meat is perfect. Takes no more than 5 mins to wash the basket and outer metal tub in the sink and give the element housing a quick wipe round inside the air fryer. When doing it previously in the oven it would splatter fat everywhere and was a royal pain in the arse having to line the oven with foil or spend ages cleaning it out afterwards.

Once you are off sugar having desert becomes something you cant really belive you used to do......I blame our parents!
The idea that you eat a nice filling meal.......then eat a bunch of sugar loaded pointless calories is daft. If you can eat that, your main meal was too small!
As an aside.....my kids like sugar as much as the next teenager, but they never get desert and would never think to have it. On a weekend they get some crap to eat while watching a movie but this regular pudding after a meal is alien to them. So much of our diet is ingrained habit.

Week 2. Weighed myself this morning after a good pee and exhaled of course. 96 kg down from 102kg! Cant say my waist line looks smaller so I guessing its been mainly water loss.
Have adjusted DietDoctors menus a bit. Brekkie is usually 1 scrambled egg with a tomato and some cheese. I had some left over lamb, so its lamb wraps with a slither of mayo for lunch and I've been a good boy and weigh the food portions for the evenings meals. (I add some spuds or pasta for the Mrs.) So week 2! Bring it on.

There's nothing else to see unless you want pics of the air fryer? I was going to do some broccoli with it but I didn't bother in the end and just had the meat which filled me up. I'm afraid I don't do the arty pics like grumbledoak earlier in the thread, with asparagus sticks positioned at exactly 45 degrees to the rest of the meal .last nights meal, scored a 9 1/2 out of 10 from wifey.
Large courgette which was really a feckin marrow, at least 5 inches wide and 14 long. Cut it into 4 big slices, scooped out the middle bar a little in the bottom, drizzled olly oil, oven for 1/2 hr. In pan, chicken, bacon....cook....onions/mushrooms/toms, cook. Marrow out, fill up with cooked innards! Back in oven, 5 mins, out, grated cheese on top, under grill 5 mins. OMG.....! Cooked 4 so thursdays meal same same with a side salad

It's 30
Another half a stone down.
Had cravings for something sweet last night. Stopped on the way home and bought a large tub of Roddas Clottted Cream and had it with unbelievably tasty raspberries that my wife picked up from the local market.
I have also jsut called her and asked her to pick up an Air Fryer whilst she is out and about today. The photos above look too good!

This is the one I bought but it's back up at £100 now whereas I paid £90 : https://www.argos.co.uk/product/7988321
If you want an easy life when it comes to cleaning then I recommend it simply because of the basket : https://housinghere.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06... as it's a piece of piss to clean vs metal wire racks/baskets in other models like the expensive Philips ones where all the crud gets stuck to them.
Mine continues to churn out the porky goodness :

I've not bothered about getting a hot air fryer as I wanted more fat, not less, but this does seem like an excellent option. I'd think it's also probably more energy efficient than running a whole oven too
The fat drains into the bottom metal bowl that the basket is suspended above. You don't lose the fat and trust me, there's plenty sat in the bowl for you to drink/pour/whatever after doing bacon/pork/lamb. Not really sure if you should pre-heat them like an oven and opinions seem to vary but I don't and just set it running and let it get on with it.I tried some soft boiled eggs in it earlier but it was the first time and I was guessing at timings. They came out hard boiled instead but I know people have had success so needs some more testing. I do know that you have to do them at a low heat to stop them from exploding and that means they take longer than just doing them in a pan of water. I just sat them in the basket and did them for 10 mins at 120C but I think 8 mins might be better.

Just remember you fkers. Jam on first.
Nice find Grover. Personally I'd pay the extra tenner and get it from Argos for peace of mind. If it packs up within the warranty period you chuck it in your car, drive it to Sainsburys/Argos, hand them it with your receipt and they give you a new one a couple of mins later without any aggro. If you buy it from Amazon and it breaks you've got a load of hassle on your hands and you'll have to pay to send it back and insure it. YMMV.
