Keto diet - anyone else?

That sounds like a really positive experience more like the one my wife is having
Imagine I didn’t give it long enough, but still don’t see how keto can replace taking glucose while doing longer exercises
The pizza base idea sounds good I actually asked on the pizza over thread if anyone had any luck with keto bases and got no positive replies

4 eggs - beat add grated cheese 300g and a table spoon of almond flour. I usually add a little bit of garlic too.
Mix it all together to make a sort of paste with a porridge like consistency.
Flat Baking tray, Line with baking paper. Spread the mixture out thinly on the paper.
Bake the base at 250c for around 8 minutes or until it’s become a golden brown colour. Check periodically that it’s become solid.
Once cooked leave your oven on at 250c and set the cooked base aside.
Add your tomato purée concentrate as normal with a bit of oregano and then top as normal.
I usually add Camembert, mozzarella, grated mozzarella (the fake stuff that doesn’t come in a bag of water) cheddar or Gouda and then Serrano ham.
Don’t add any salt to anything throughout the process as with all the cheese it can end up too salty. I usually use grated grana padano (parmesan) to adjust the flavour.
Bake that lot for another 8 minutes and you have pizza
Seriously you’ll only manage a few slices as it’s extremely filling.
What are peoples go to recipe books/links or even recipes ?
Ideally I want to be able to batch cook and freeze the meals the forthcoming weeks which should hopefully make it much easier with just myself doing it.
I did the diet many years ago and had food results once the first few days were completed !

Just on keto flu, is it not just a case of needing to up your salt intake initially? Anyone trying keto should be doing this surely?

Honestly though i am never going back to sugar or carb heavy food despite really missing rice with a curry.
I believe that cauliflower rice is compatible with maintenance stage of keto and is close enough to satisfy. M+S used to sell it feef said:

You can get frozen bags of cauli rice that you bang in the microwave which is ok. Ish.
I've got some of that, always find it a bit soggy.Something I have recently discovered is that Tesco do Cauliflower hash browns and they are awesome.

Absolute crap, marketing trying to jump on the wagon. Why would you want to drink that when you can eat tuna, cheese, olives, greens, red meat, lean protein etc. It's not sustainable and after the diet it still hasn't taught its target audience about food so people pile back on the weight as they haven't fixed the root of the problem.
I don't mean any of the above towards you or any other posters here just a rant at weight watchers/slimfast who are both trying to use the keto name.
I found Keto amazing at teaching me about food and how carbs are not necessary, ran a tough mudder and cycled 100 miles in a day with zero carbs and it's genuinely amazing that once your body understands how to tap into fat reserves which does take a few weeks of ketosis it's incredible.
Now I do have a non calorie restrcted diet with carbs and I enjoy them but the learning about food and fuel is the best thing you can do for one's self imho.

Nutritional info and ingredients here -https://www.slimfast.co.uk/products/keto-shake/ric...
so it is low carb, and in fact the protein/fats/carbs/fibre/calories are all in the right sort of proportions. But it isn't a set of ingredients you would find in any kitchen. Very much processed food.
You would be better off eating real food.
I followed keto for 12 months before the first lockdown, went so well and I lost 2 stone, felt great, loads of energy and great skin, loved the way I ate and never missed carbs
Sadly like a lot of people I fell foul of chocolate and crisps and then eating out way too much after restrictions lifted
Today, I start keto again, getting back into it will take a bit of planning but I can’t wait to feel good again
Can anyone recommend a good app for carb tracking preferably with a barcode scanner? I know the fundamentals from before but would like to have a back up

Late reply so you are probably well on the way with MFP but Carb Manager (free) is popular. Just don't rely on the data without double checking against the packaging. Lost count of the muppets who have inputted a kilo of Dairy Milk as 0 carbs or a bottle of red wine as 5 cals....... Common sense and the actual label > CM data !

I did start of using carb manager and have used it in the past but I notice now you can only log 5 foods a day on the free one without upgrading to premium! Cba!
First week went well, first few days I felt a bit hungry and tired but by Thursday I was well into the swing of it again and didn’t feel hungry.
I’m attempting “flexiable” where I’m strict in the week but might endulge on the weekend with a burger bun but no chips.
Currently have this in the oven. Will report back.
