Haven't read any of this thread as I'm not into the body building as such, so apologies if someone's already said this, but I've been on steroids for the last four days (dexamethasone) following a dental intrusion and the one thing I've noticed is the effect they've had on my sleep pattern. Suddenly wide awake at some ungodly hour 3.30 or 4am and can't get back to sleep. Don't feel especially tired later in the day though, which is weird as I normally slump at about 4pm and have been known to nod off on the sofa well before 10pm.

Probably best to ask others on here tbh. For me, my left side regained its 'strength' quite quickly but my right was fked and degenerated (i didnt know at the time of the scar tissue) but from my limited research, in theory it should help (some will say its a placeabo and i wouldnt argue with them) but the main stuff to help seemed to be the stuff you inject - which im not really wishing to go down that route.

Im currently just doing bodyweight stuff (in the main) and stretching to get the motion back and then ill look into it again i imagine as i just want to get back to normal asap
Thanks. I might give it a go as even a placebo would be nice at the moment😀

OK, I think. I have two a day, one in the morning and one with my tea in the evening.

I have had another little growth spurt, but I guess I was due one anyway and it could be just coincidence. My back and chest area seem more 'itchy', but that may be the result of my wife changing washing powder...

Have always had trouble sleeping, it's no different on these, TBH (rely on sleeping aids..), and always had quite a high libido, and that hasn't changed, too.

I noticed this from yesterdays 'training' thread:

Today I managed to hit 150kg on Bench Press, which surprised me, as I was sure I wouldn't do it and only added it in to exhaust the muscles by trying...
.. figured it wouldn't hurt to try 150, even though I usually have only one good rep with the heavy stuff, and thought 145 was it. However, to my amazement, the bar touched the chest and, instead of failing a quarter of the way up, the bar kept going up!
Now this may or may not be related to the DHEA but this is similar to the effects of a (small) increase in t in that 1. a previously thought of heavy lift seems unexpectedly easy, and 2. lifts feel so smoooth . If the DHEA has had an influence on your power expect it to last only about another few weeks max then estrogen conversion may occur, followed by a drop in libido.

Perhaps, but I don't think the dose is high enough to have a large effect. From the studies I have seen, the participants had 300mg of DHEA per day, one capsule is only 50mg, so the two per day I have been having is only a third of that.

Sure, just reminding you of potential sides. Could be placebo as well.

I know, that's why I didn't mention my PR yesterday on this thread, as I had already done 147.5kg a few months before. smile

That's the thing with this type of supplement; any performance enhancement - if at all - can be hard to quantify.

Ive started rubbing CBD balm into the shoulder joint area now, not sure if its working or not but some swear by it etc. could just be the next snake oil gimmick.

My shoulders getting better but then ive concentrating more on Form, doing bodyweight (Pilates/Yoga), not going heavy and more 'forced' stretching.

Last time around i just went back to weights and tried to rack the weight up quickly, which might have induced the scar tissue (im not a medical expert so probably wrong there), im sking in 12 days time so ill be able to see how effective CBD balm is with the knee as it will flare up.

Quick update re CBD Balm - been rubbing it into the affected area and it seems to give pain relief for about 90-120 minutes before the effects wear off. Cant really say if its helped my shoulder recover as such as ive been doing light weights on it and exerting it to the point of dull pain (good) instead of stabby pain (bad). Also went skiing for a week and despite some big wipeouts it held up though it was applied every night.

Used it on my knee as well and while it probably did help the swelling go down (felt like a balloon in the back of the knee) it couldnt get rid of it on the final day.

Though i shared it around with a couple of others (suspected cracked ribs) and another whos back had tensed up (my fault) and they loved it.

So for £20 or so, it might be worth a try

not yet and not sure if i will as im not in constant pain this time round. Last year i would have done

a mma instructor i know with fked knees has started taking it and i think the initial impressions are good. I know when i whipped out the Balm, the Americans dropped the ibuprofen for the pot. Though the Military person wasnt sure if the concentration was enough to set off the alarm if she got piss tested

2 weeks into 15mg Ostarine(Thanks smithy) and at this stage it'll be placebo I'd guess, but so what....

- some fat loss (more than has been the case in the previous month without) but I'm only doing c20-30mins rowing a week
- gone past a minor plateau in the 5x5, I'm around week 10 and deadlift had stalled once at 190, now at 198, but still 77kg to go for target......
- had one day where I was tired and feeling crappy due to way too much beer on the preceding Sat, but still easily lifted more than the previous week
- minor improvement in shoulder mobility/pain, but no way to be sure of anything

It'll be interesting for the next 4 weeks, as the 5x5 increases should naturally slow down.

Be aware that Ostarine will shut down your HPTA down as effectively as oral anabolics- despite being marketed as non suppressive, it is. It'll also impact upon your cholesterol levels in the same way as oral steroids.

Some kind of PCT would be advised, and not just an of the shelf test booster either. These are things that people should be aware of before introducing and drug into their system, it's not something to be taken lightly. Research drugs are also notorious for being under dosed, or not what they say they are.
