Lol it’s not exactly breakfast time here smile well it kinda is. Not normal circumstances a bit cliff Richard summer holiday style.

I’m probably doing 16 pints before evening meal - not racing just carrying double pints each visit to the pool bar. Easy to do when on it from 8:30am

However werre a bottle of cava in now too
Where are you then ?

I couldn't physically drink 16 pints, I probably couldn't drink 6 !

You build up a tolerance, I had about 6 pints a couple of weeks ago and felt it 2 days later, not drank since, however I remember a few years ago after a weekend in Dublin with some mates sinking 6 pints before we got on the plane home and I barley felt it, and that was only after 3 days hard drinking, I'd imagine after years this kind of intake could be possible. I've no interest in finding out though!

My consumption will probably be similar when I go to benidorm with the lads at the end of next month. God knows how I'm gonna cope with that seeing as 6-8 pints now (albeit fairly strong ones) usually as good as floors me now.

At least you aren't known as one to bluff. That Porsche, Uncle Arthur's house with the stream in the basement... all true.

Another thing I forgot to mention is I used to have regular sneezing fits that lasted a whole day or more, these have now gone. I wonder if I was allergic to the wine?.
A friend of mine turns into a right snot monster if he drinks wines containing sulfites (which most do) - if he sticks to organic ones, he's OK.

Why though?

I'm assuming maybe wrongly you are on summer hols with your wife & kids, yet drinking like you are on a stag weekend.

A couple of glasses an hour isn’t high pace at all it’s lethargic - I don’t feel drunk possibly tipsy but not pie eyed.

Many others doing similar too. So it’s not like I’m the odd one out guzzling the booze. Germans are at it on a different league to me crazy high consumption but us brits we do like to booze hound it a touch smile

Over the late May bank holiday weekend I had quite a bit to drink and ended up having hangover anxiety, which wasn't pleasant at all.
I used to call that "the fear". Truly dreadful feeling. I get anxiety anyway but often when I'm hungover its a lot worse.
I've been at it for years and I'm 99% sure I've never had this.

I lived in Germany for a couple of years, in Hamburg, working in a club on the Reeperbahn. So obviously, party town and a lot of drinking going on. The first couple of months I ended up having to go home to bed early as I was getting way more drunk by the same point in the evening than I did when I was back in London. They're really into the shots out there. You walk into a bar you get given a shot on the house. Then every round of beers was usually accompanied by a shot as well. And even though the beer is no stronger than here, in Hamburg most of the bars are too small and poky to have proper draught beer systems (this actually surprised me) so it tended to be sold in 330ml bottles which in essence meant two shots next to just over a pint of beer. And nights out tended not to wind down til 6am at weekends either. The Brits tend to need chemical assistance to keep going that long but most Germans seemed to be able to be able to drink from 10pm till dawn without resorting to a cheeky line of whatever. Not saying it wasn't there but nothing like as ubiquitous as London.

I know we are supposed to hold off the judging on this thread but I can’t bite my tongue anymore. Why is everything a competition to you, all of your posts on this thread are nothing short of an attempt to boast and outdo everyone else with your drinking “quests”. This is a discussion thread with lads supporting each other, have you noticed this? All you do is dip in and post your latest drinking tally, you offer nothing of substance to this thread(like most of your other contributions).

You are in a family holiday, I assume (hope) your wife is being more responsible. On that assumption you are a selfish tt leaving her to look after the kids in a pool environment because if she is relying on you then she is also a reckless parent no better than you.

Or else it’s all just made up lies like most of your posts.

Lucky you. I suspect it's something those of us with anxiety issues in general probably get more than the average bloke

Actually I think he's spot on and was going to post something similar my self.

All you use this thread for is to brag, which is sad anyway, but even worse when you are on a family holiday and drinking constantly because that's what brits do. Never mind what your kids want, or your wife.

And you had the audacity to criticise guys who go for a morning run while they're on holiday.

I was going to agree with the inbetween poster we drop it but sir have dropped the bomb more wood on the fire.

God only knows what running has to do with reducing drinking or how much do you honestly drink.

As I said you I and all others on here are clearly functioning alcoholics at best some may try to slow or cut it out but the addiction is there for life.

I like my drink.

Far to much these days. Ive always been a drinker but I know its going south lately. Ive tried to cut down, and managed about 4/5 weeks before I strated hiding drinks from the other half.

A surefire message that soemthings not healthy.

I told mysrlf Id cut back down, but of late have only ever been finding excuses to drink.

Today for example....went to Tesco at lunchtime for odds n sods and bought 2 x4 packs Abbot ales.

Thats all gone now and am thinkig about walking down the garage for more.....

Not proud of it tbh, but it just doesnt seem to touch the sides thse days.

Acre and greg - just to clarify your postings is this above post “boasting” as you put it or actually very normal for us functioning alcholics?

Please respond as clarity on what is and isn’t is required from yourselves.
