Nothing now

Although in fairness I drank at least a litre of Vodka a day for about fifteen years. Life seems a lot smoother now lol.

I dislike “too much” as a term, as it seems defeatist somehow.

Nonetheless, the Chief Medical Officer and I do not see eye to eye but whilst it doesn’t affect work, relationships and health, I shall continue to believe I know better.

Cheers!

More than I should I know...

Up to a litre of beer and half a bottle of wine nearly every night. I've got severe Tinnitus and alcohol is my sleeping pill.

Quite a lot. There's three of us in the household, we normally do about two bottles of wine a night between three at dinner time. I'll probably have a bottle of ale before dinner and another after. I wouldn't consider it excessive, I don't enjoy getting drunk but I'm under no illusion that it doesn't all mount up and that I'd probably be slimmer and have more money in my pocket if I didn't drink as much. However, I don't see why I should drink less than I want simply because the government knows it can make a load of money off me in tax whilst pretending it's for my own good, so I am learning to brew.

I was reading this thread thinking I probably drink to much then read this. Interested in hearing more myself.

And not on some 'so I can judge you'. From the firm perspective that we all have had lives, ups and downs and some people have more interesting lives than others in many ways.

Hmm, probably waay to much really. I accept that I really do drink to much, "but"......
I do use alcohol as a crutch, and if I have a stressy day, then I will drink that night.
Over the years, my intrake has steadily risen, to the point I can now drink double what I used to be able to drink.

My poison is Ale, and normally a strong one, like Abbotts....
I can happily drink 8 500ml cans and not feel that bad....

Fri, sat, sun, at least 8 per day...then probs Tues/wed subject to work....

2 years ago I went dry for 3 months, completey off my back - I felt great and lost a load of weight....

I keep telling myeslf I could do the same again - but honestly ? Life without beer scares me....

Probably a bottle and a half a week. Which puts me around the recommended max 14 units a week.

Don't drink often mon - thurs. Usually share a bottle with the OH Fri and Saturday nights, plus the odd beer and occasional bigger night out.

You must constantly be going to the toilet though? 9 of those cans is a gallon of beer!

So I’m one in so far tonight will likely have another 2-3.

Don’t do Sunday drinking very often at all - but even with the Welsh Rugby yesterday I found I only had 6 beers from 2pm to 11pm which I’d say is pretty low.

Couldn't cope with the stress of my job and one morning, I was in a hotel in Central London had a cheeky Gordons Gin out of the mini bar at eight in the morning and fell off the edge of the world for more than a decade. I held a good position with a Blue Chip Company with his and hers company cars, Corporate Amex and all the toys and within eight months was working as a drivers mate delivering fridges.

It got worse after that.

See now, we need to be careful here. The thread so far has managed to avoid 'judgement' and I think it is the better for it.
Let's not do a 'standard' PH here. Please.

I Comfortably get through at least 20 cans of Stella a week & 3 bottles of Rum.

I never get hangovers & cycle to work leaving at around 6am most days.

I gave up my beloved Marlboro reds 9 years ago & i think the Rum is now my addiction.

Having father who has had some alcohol problems for many years, since I was very young, now 21, my desire to drink is minimal. I don't particularly like it, and working for pennies in a night club was quite eye opening. I don't judge anyone for drinking whatsoever, excepting the young lady in the nightclub who vomited on the dance floor leaving me to clean it up, then proudly telling me it was her who dunnit.

I will probably have 1, maybe 2 cans of cider a month, when the soft drinks have run out. Benefits of this is on a night out I'm a massive lightweight, save a fortune
