Yup, daily walk, fresh air, clear your head, get the blood flowing. 8-12000 steps a day significantly lowers all cause mortality. The Intensity of the steps doesn’t seem to play a part - so from that view, jogging/running is no better than walking.

I think so, too. Cracking exercise - zero recovery cost and very pleasant.
My daughter was averaging 20,000 steps a day working as a waitress before she went to uni, she couldn't eat enough food to counter the calories burnt.

I used to do 12-15,000 before getting home from work and can see now that I just wasn't eating enough to grow on top of that. My workouts haven't changed and food hasn't really increased but strength and size are up dramatically during lockdown.

Will be the walking, especially if it's fairly brisk.

Agreed. I couldn't believe how effective walking was when I was doing maybe 40 minutes a day as part of my commute.

Deadlift today up to an easy single at 160kg (although form was not great). Pretty happy with that since I haven't done any heavy deadlifting since before lockdown. I'd guess my current 1RM to be around 180.
Also did 4x15 barbell row, 3x10-12 lat pulldown and some curls.

Didn't go heavier as no bar left and didn't want to get too silly after 2 weeks off.
Really pleased with how it moved.

It sounds bliss having a cold water swim daily.
I want to take it up again but council make it not worthwhile charging for parking on top of the membership to use the pool :/

Been back at work since Monday, feeling ok although I sometimes get sweaty, achey moments out of nowhere and for no apparent reason. Its a strange old thing. Example. Took dogs for decent 30 minute walk the other day, including some steep hills, no issues. Last night got out of breath and sore chest walking up my stairs! Mrs still suffering the worst out of us, but we all give thanks that we have has such a mild strain in comparison to many! I'm returning to gym today...the words weak and kitten will be doubtless be applied which at just under 18st is rather embarrassing. Thanks for your thoughts, stay well and healthy all!!

Yeah I'm loving the water, really helps clear the mind, so many benefits both mentally and physically.

There aren’t meaningful differences between strains. Your immune system just won the battle (which is the case for almost everyone). I would try not to worry about it.

Is that true? I am not arguing, only asking. My assumption had been that the relatively healthy doctors, nurses and NHS workers that had died had contacted very strong infections because of the amount of the airborne droplets in their work environment. I know it isn't as simple as this, but say I have picked it up from a dumbell in the gym that one infected person, or a similar folder or book in my work, surely I am picking up much less of the virus than someone working in a 'virus heavy' environment? That is, to use that dreadful cliche, only bioscience and I stand in hope of being corrected by those more knowledgeable. Your comment about individual immune systems, for example makes perfect sense.

Easy man! I'm just back from gym, because having been told it shut at six a few weeks back, it now shuts at four!! Who knows, I might actually get in tomorrow!!
