2,000 calories is hardly starvation rations, even for a big lad.

On dieting more generally, I’ve no real idea how much I eat in general. All I do is increase a bit when I want to gain weight and reduce a bit when I want to lose fat. I think that works for most people as long as they are well nourished and generally healthy (decent insulin sensitivity, good gut health, etc). I would guess that I never drop below about 2,500 calories or go much over 3,000, so it’s small changes.
I’m all over the place. Some days it’s 1800 others it’s 2500 and twice a week 3k. 1500 is my dieting floor until the end when I;ll drop to 800 for a few days.

Yesterday evening I trained biceps and triceps.

This morning I can't even straighten my arms.

I knew I was training hard but this is a new level of pain, walking around like a T-Rex!

Cacked up my neck again (no idea how or even when) so no training for me for the last few days. I think I might be able to low bar squat and will probably give it a go later. The good thing about pain being constant is that it does not increase with exercise...

Dad duties getting in the way of training today, but pre-wedding fat (weight) loss continues. Have so far dropped 4.4kg in a month with 5 weeks and 6 kg to go to my target of 80kg. I suspect I'll end up around 83kg.

Decided to try and boost my efforts wit a fat burner, so started with Hydroxyelite this morning. Absolutely buzzing now, despite having been awake since 3am. I imagine the crash this afternoon will be dreadful...

I managed to get some squats done last night. Hurt like hell, but done.

Paused squats: triples up to 130kg.

Walked to work this morning with a few short running intervals. 6 miles in 1hr 24 mins with numerous stops for traffic/coffee. The most exercise I'm going to get this week, I think.

Managed to break my own personal record and did 6 x 105kg squats.

I only weigh 66kg so I'm bloody chuffed with that. 110kg is the goal for next week :-D

Nice one! I think you’ll smash 110.

You’re a similar weight to me. I’ve backed right off squats recently, having got up to 120kg earlier in the year.

105kg for 6 is damn impressive for a woman.

I've done my neck twice, OHP always seems to do it. Never see it comming either. All is well and then pop, ouch, can't turn my head anymore. In my case I'm told its the Levator Scapulae muscle which really isn't designed to lift heavy stuff, that tries to compensate for the primary muscles of the shoulder when they start to give up due to fatigue.

Royal pita too, no upper body exercise and trouble sleeping for 2 weeks :-(

Agreed. I'm an 80kg bloke and the best I ever hit was 105kg for 5 reps x 3 sets. I've had a real love hate relationship with squats for the last 3 years though, they've alway caused me no end of back trouble. I'd tried every which way to fix it and nothing worked so I quit doing them for a while after several injuries and sick of having a stiff lower back and niggling pains.

Ironically after giving up and not trying the fix the issue and by total chance I started running. Me and the Mrs have been training the couch to 5K. Since then my back has been the best its been in years. So I decided to put squats back into my program. I actually failed a squat the other week due to my legs and I never ever thought that possible. My legs gave up before my back did. Amazing. Seeing the same on my deadlift too. Before I'd give up when I felt my back starting to fatigue out for fear of injury. Now Its fine and my fail point is my legs not being able to break the bar off the floor.

I thought Romeogolf was our (one and only?) female poster on here? If he’s not, my bad!

I've also just worked out that 105 x 6 @ 66kg would be ridiculously advanced for a woman, so my comment was doubly stupid. Sorry.

It does involve engaging the brain, though, which is quite difficult when it's hot.
