Rushed today so missed some of my session.
Did manage to get in my axle clean and press session though.
Based on today's session I think elbow sleeves may be hindering my performance. I always seem to do worse with them on strangely.

Last set of 120kg PB https://www.instagram.com/p/BqkdreAA7rc/?utm_sourc...
I can knock a few secs off by just being quicker and less lazy haha. Also mistimed first rep and didn't align feet with bar on one of them.
Aim is to be doing it this quick at 140 by May in time for England's.
This year it was that axle 140 for reps and I think 5/6 reps won which I'd like to make a breeze if its same event this year.
The weird tummy rest clean thing you do is now looking quite slick. Well done!

Continental clean, a must do technique for axle or anything you can't full clean hah.
It's feeling better at manageable weights, might be a different story at near max pressing weights. I'll find out just after Christmas biggrin

18th May is the date!
First, second and last event are ones I need to work on to make up points given the caliber of athletes.
There's also people entering for fun so to speak which means top 3 each event will be big points.
6 months of hard work starts now!

Go for it!

I was watching UK's Strongest Man on TV last night - wondering when you'd be throwing your hat into the ring!

Hoping this time round.
Missed the last 2 because of my pec tear!

It's not easy though, top 3 qualify for England's then top 5 I think from Englands qualify for UKs + invites.
Strangely the qualifiers are usually heavier though laugh

That was my immediate thought as well.

Smiffy, your eventual goal is world's, right? How far are you from realistically being able to compete at that level?

One day, i would love to lift an atlas stone but the only one of those lifts i'd be comfortable with would be the DL and i'd be a good 18 months to 24 months away from getting 300KG probably.

Need to grow your beard out and shave your head, got to get the look sorted as well lol

Or a lifetime. Not many people make it to 300kg.

I believe that anyone can, given the drive an tenacity to really want to (within reason). I just don't think many really want to! Apart from weirdos, like me.

I'd concur with that
