You were north of 300 at your best, weren't you, Ben?

I won't hit 300 conventional, not without getting significantly heavier - I hover around 71-74kg.

Last big pull I did was 215kg at 69kg.

I've decided on a compromise by aiming for 300 on the trap bar instead, which I should be able to do without putting too much (if any) extra weight on.

Beltless 305kg is my all time best, last year @ around 102kg BW

OR.... the guys who want it more stick it out, the guys who don't, don't.

We'll agree to differ, but I'm still of the opinion that those that really want it, would get it. There's a huge mental element that perhaps some lack, rather than the physical element.
A lot depends on how fat they were prepared to get. I expect I could eventually deadlift 300kg if I bloated up to 120kg! But not a chance of getting anywhere near it at 88kg.

Most super strong people were always quite strong. There are plenty of stories of powerlifters that deadlifted 140kg the first time they touched a barbell.
IMO 88kg bodyweight isn't a hindrance.

Mid 200s is easily do-able at that bodyweight.

2 points:
(1) mid-200s isn’t 300.
(2) 88kg is quite light at 5’11

But it’s certainly true that any respectable lifter at my weight can deadlift in the 200s, even normal height guys.

Tell that to anyone trying to get from 230kg to 300kg!

But I take the point. A 2.5 x BW deadlift tends to be considered doable. That would put me at 220kg.

Boom! Fantastic lift.

Not that much of a grind, by your standards. Never in doubt. You’re so strong off the chest that your sticking point is really high, meaning you don’t have a big dead spot. As soon as you get to the lock out phase, it’s easy again. Technique paying off.

Marcus- bulk till Jan!

Ord- it was a weird lift, 2 sticking points, but when I got the line again lock out felt dead easy. Lift off makes a big difference, not something I usually have the pleasure of!

Yeah - I see that now. Only you would hit a second sticking point and think ‘Oh well. Easy!’

3 dots and click copy link then paste here. That's what I do biggrin
Awesome lift BTW, forgot to mention it earlier when I commented laugh

3rd set 124.5kg x5 axle clean and press PB tonight.
Quicker and heavier than last week, still a couple mistakes that could knock a couple seconds off.
Pleased with how it's going biggrin

I’m 77 kg at present. Depleted. I put a jacket on last night, not worn in a long time and it hung off me like a sack hehe I’m cutting until Xmas.

Bulking is the hard option! Cutting is easy- just eat less. Eating More when you don't want to is way harder!

Pull>

Deadlift, beltless: 220KG X 8
Smith Chest supported rows: 3x F
Cable rows: 3x F
High cable rows: 3x F
Wide pullups: 3x F
EZ preacher: 60kg x 9, 5
Reverse EZ curls: 3x F

OK. Glute stopped deads prematurely, but more than last week. Not bad overall.

I never understand why anyone says bulking is hard, until i get ill. When I'm ill, food is so unpleasant - such an effort to eat it. I assume it is like that for lots of people once they dont feel hungry anymore (whereas I kinda always feel hungry and can always eat).
