opening exercise is DB incline, 3 x 10, plus a slow fourth temp rep. Yeah, three-ish years ago I think. I reckon long reps are best for building back up the tendon that is there. I think I've gotten better at judging when it's just tired or in danger. For a loooong time I was so scared of it ripping. My horizontal pressing strength is now very weak. I can only hope that slow and steady progress will get me back to a point which is reasonable for my build.
Currently stuck on 30 kg DBs for the 3 sets, got it up to 10/10/9, was expecting to get 10/10/10 and then I could move to 32's. But got 10/10/7 and had to rest a few secs and struggle out 2 more reps...annoying! Not sure, if I'm right on the edge of what I can do or if my hard run yesterday tired me out too much. I'm also trying to lose fat at the same time. biggrin
All other lifts in the routine, I can make 1 rep advancements, which I am happy with
Dips: 3 x f, Hammer Press: 3 x 8-10, 1 x f, 1 tempo, KB Press, DB side raise: 3 x f, Press & Raise: 3 xf, bB rear raise: 3 x f, triceps Push down: 1 drop set - 4 drops to failure

Hmm.

Psychology could well be playing a big part here, not wishing to state the obvious!  It’s possible that you could push and get that extra rep, but you’re subliminally telling yourself that you can’t push.  I’m guessing you tore the pec going for a balls-to-the-wall effort?  That being so, it’s very easy to inadvertently create a false wall when pushing on an movement that you’ve previously injured yourself on.

Ask me how I know biggrin

That said, you’ll obviously know how you feel, so the above may not apply.

Recover and eat better, and you’ll get the extra reps no bother. All this running about and wods take their toll wink

If you’ve got 10/10/9, just up to 32’s imo

Last day of deload, tomorrow is comp!
Honestly, I'm expecting nothing given the state I'm in but going to give it my best and see what happens.
I'm also going to try push for a scan on the bicep as it doesn't seem to be healing - holding the baby it aches so unsure now if partially torn anything. I will be skipping the last event which is stones if they say I can't qualify though as no point risking anything to say I placed x.
Done hot cold treatment yesterday in steam room and plunge pool for around 90 mins, done a stretch class with assisted stretching which he also based for my comp rather than the usual.
Will update tomorrow what happens.

If anyone got some time to read, this guy comes across really knowledgeable, bit hard to read on Instagram as you have to load the comments where he continues but he goes into great detail for health

Tough! I did exactly what I didn’t intend to and rushed at the beginning, which I regretted intensely by about the 8th round.

I don’t think the pushups made any difference at all to my time.

Bike ride to the mountain and back, then 2 sets of push ups 100 per set.

Strongman day-

Log- bunch of reps up to 1x125kg, triples at 105kg
Farmers- 15m x 100,120,130kg, 150kg for about 5m- swinging all over the place!

That was it. Great fun. Tech was really pish all round. But strength was ok. Log was actually a Pb for a single too- felt so awkward and unnatural though- loads to work on there.

I think you're right. I have gotten better at being braver with it, but 30kg weight is not gonna rip it now, It's thick enough. I can aford to stretch it a lil and not panic stop. Yeah, balls to the wall heavy dubles no spotter, missed my rep and instead of safely doing the roll of shame went to rack, but I was on a bench I wasn't used to (another mistake) and missed the pins the bar would have decapitated me, so I pulled it in, and because of no weight holders the plates slid and I hyper-extended my chest pulling the muscle and tendon away, so nothing gave way, just stupidity and ego...still rankles to this day.

Thanks everyone.
Today went bad though.

Can't be arsed to write it out laugh
But here's what I posted on Facebook anyway:

"So now I'm home I can finally do a write up of how the Northern England's qualifiers went. Going to be a long one, sorry.

About 5 weeks ago my test levels bottomed out to 1.92nmol, it's always been low hovering between 7-8 for the last 5ish years but for some reason it crashed.
I tried my best to bring it up using a PCT, natural test boosters etc to not much avail. Recovery turned to 10-14 days from a heavy session meaning 1 week good 1 week bad and trying peak was impossible.
I feel bad for my coach as I just couldn't follow every week no matter how hard I tried.

Around 8-10 weeks ago I pulled the top of my bicep on a 110kg stone, the weight itself was nothing but unfortunately pulled it.
About 2 weeks ago I pulled it again on a 80kg stone even though I thought it had recovered with rest.
Last weekend it went again on a 120kg log clean so I wasn't expecting much today.

The strangest feeling today was turning up to comp 'emotionless'.
I had no comp nerves, no drive, no nothing. It felt like a bad training session which didn't set me up good for the day.

Event 1 was the max log press: 130kg went up okay, didn't feel as strong as in training.
140kg was attempted and during the clean I felt some bubbling on my bicep but carried on to try press. As I pressed I started to pass out, dropped it and nearly collapsed. This is the first time ever I've experienced this so I knew exactly how bad today was going to go.
No bother as I still wanted to finish the day.

Picked up the empty frame, around 200kg and no pulling so knew deadlifts and frame would go okay but stones were a no no.

Event 2 was 300kg deadlift for reps: well this was a real s*** show for me. I missed warm ups taking my daughter to the toilet as there was a queue so quickly did some reps on the empty frame and jumped in at 300kg, head completely out of it.
Pulled the 1st rep and felt hamstrings go tight, tried to reset for rep 2 but couldn't centre the bar as there was divots in the matting.
By this point I could really feel my hamstrings and called it quits before any more injuries happened.
As I'm sat here typing this, my left trap, mid back and hamstrings all ache so definitely the right move to do.

At this point I pulled out, this was very difficult to do but with everything that's gone on leading up to it and what happened today it was the best thing to do.

I do feel a bit lost as the Dr has said I don't 'fit the criteria' for the help needed so will have to fix this on my own with the help of a good friend looking after me.
My priority now is to fix my health, today hit me hard and I don't want to spiral down from here by trying to continue with bad health.
Hopefully will be fixed in the next few weeks.

Congratulations to the winners today, well deserved and looked tough for everyone!

Below is the little footage I have from the day although it's really nothing special.
130kg log, 140kg attempt & 300kg deadlift. "

It feels like the lowest point for me, really hit me hard. Thankfully sourced some HCG now so will get that some time next week and hopefully that's the end of the issues.
I am really achey on my left Delt so going to see if I can get a scan done.
