After the gym this morning I took my dogs for a walk- a drunk guy (presumably heading home from a party) came towards me.... I fully expected him to try and fight me, as he looked dodgy. He crossed the road, came up to me.... an asked him much I lift laugh

legs still in a state of some shock, they've made things quite awkward this week.

I recall giving a homeless guy some cash after he engaged me in fairly lengthy chat about lifting an stuff.
Did you give him your full PL total D or just leave it at bench? biggrin

Full total (on his request) - he told me he’d done lifting in prison and liked it biggrin Nice enough guy tbh, chatted a bit about my gym, then he shook my hand and said have a good day. My dog had just did a crap- and when he went to shake my hand, he said- ‘oh, yuv got a bag ah ste’ laugh

Sorry about that. Sorry also about my rubbish fake Scottish accent.

I did a legs workout today for a change. Quite good.
Deads: 5 x 3 @ 140kg
Squats: 3 x 10 @ 100kg

Back extensions s/s with split squats
Calf raises, side planks and ab roll outs.

My glutes feel fried, which I guess is a good sign.

I’m gonna do an upper body workout tomorrow as part of my plan to push as much of my training as possible into the weekend, so it’s less vulnerable to work emergencies during the week. I’ve been struggling to get more than about 2 and a bit workouts per week, so my plan is this:

Lower body on Saturday.
Upper body on Sunday.
1 full body workout on Tues or Wed or Thursday
As much bodyweight stuff as I can fit in on other days (probably not much).

Hard bike sesh this morning, really heavy going, then to the gym for a quick arm blast. Decided on a last minute skydive which I did this afternoon, just scraped under the weight limit biggrin

Slightly unusual lifting day today. Went to Aboyne highland games and lifted the Dinnie stones. I managed to lift both the small (144kgs) and the large (188kgs), but not together. How the hell people lift them both at the same time is beyond me. The grip strength required on the 188kg stone was incredible. The metal rings make for hard lifting. If you ever have the chance to have a go then do it. Managing both at the same time without straps must be a special achievement.

Incredible strength. There aren't many who have lifted them both together let alone walked with them. I tried lifting the 144kg stone one handed and couldn't hold on.

I saw those on STRONGLAND on Netflix. Some of the people lifting them weren't even that large.

STRONGLAND

PS. Had I known about the stones at Vik in Iceland when I was there, I'd have gone along for an attempt wink

"Alongside this, Eddie Hall a 1x Worlds Strongest Man and 500kg deadlift record holder and arguably the strongest man in history..."
seems a bit of a bold claim

The word arguably makes the claim less than bold?

that word also makes it superfluous though (or weaselly depending on pint of view), since anyone one of the guys can be put in front of that word.

Stevie Shanks was there showing people how it was done. He isn't a very big bloke (smaller than me) but he's lifted them multiple times. Technique is half the battle.

It's not THAT bold an assertion, imo.
