I've decided to get my Reps Level 3 qualification so I can do one to one PT'ing.
Something new. Won't be a main job (for a long while at least!), but it'll be enjoyable to do.
Not sure it's a good idea to let you loose on an unsuspecting public. Or will you have to be inside a cage during client sessions? Something new. Won't be a main job (for a long while at least!), but it'll be enjoyable to do.

It will be interesting to hear your thoughts on the REPS Level 3 course.
I've done the Level 3 (Premier), about 10 years ago. Before REPS came along and set itself up as the [un]official exercise professionals lead agency. I also have a Bachelors double in Sports Coaching and Sports Psychology. The Level 3 is a means to an end and absolutely no substitute for experience IMO. The Level 3 at one point shared a nutrition module with a Degree course, but it mostly concentrated on anatomy, teaching methods and program setting. It didn't go as far as periodising, mesocycles etc. IIRC it was a quite intense 8-5 five day course.V8mate said:

I'm empathetic and kind i'll have you know!Re the course, it's a means to an end, most places wouldn't take you with out it now, likewise with insurance. It seems quite heavily physiology and anatomy based, which is no bad thing. I'll learn some stuff I'm sure
But, I doubt it'll alter what I've learned through experience, and my own reading, or my approach to dealing with people and training.
I have Level 2 gym instruction, then level 3 Personal training. Also got a level 3 GP referral thrown in, as I said I didn't want to do the bumf mini courses they'd added.
Something new, which will give me options should I wish to use them!

Aye, no st!
Honestly, REPS is churning out a whole load of utterly clueless Muppets, imo - from personal observations.
As with many things, I've done it arse about tit- experience first, then the qualification. Honestly, REPS is churning out a whole load of utterly clueless Muppets, imo - from personal observations.
I was watching a PT today, and the client was talking through out his set, with the PT chatting back. That annoyed me.
You should NOT be smiling, laughing and talking through your sets. And your fking PT should not be encouraging you to do so. This guy was putting in ZERO effort, and he'll get the results commensurate to that. And that's the PT's fault.
I often wonder if PT's keep some clients because they don't make them work, and they just like telling people they have a PT and/or go to the gym......

PT watching client, who is performing movement incorrectly, PT says nothing.
PT doing stupid stuff like banded (assist) hack-squats loaded with a weight that the client couldn’t budge an inch without the bands.
PT posting vids of clients “smashing it” – with appalling form.
Honestly, don’t get me started

I am practically in tears in some sets, or closer to god.
next time it happens I want you to walk over to them, rip of your shirt hulk hogan style and grunt like a priest in a primary school, just flexing those muscles and staring at them.

Did a 2.5x bw trap bar deadlift yesterday. Heaviest I have done for a little while but a little short of my heaviest for the year.
Used a trap bar for the first time yesterday. Lifted slightly more than my BB PB, but it felt quite different, especially at the top of the lift. Back didn't feel as fully engaged as usual.Gassing Station | Health Matters | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
