Crazy group ride with the boys, doing 38kph into a block headwind at times, how I didn't puke I don't know, will do a swim when I have recovered, 9m tide so not too far to walk at least.

Overhead press 5x6-12 (60kg). More volume today - 60kg for 12 reps is a PB: https://www.instagram.com/p/CC5nLoPnPzE/
Band pushups 4 sets to failure
Band flyes 3x12
Band raises 3x12
Band lateral raises 3x12
Band kickbacks 4x12
Band pushdowns 4x12
Band hammer curls 3x15-25
Band curls 3x15
Committed set there! I love the comment ‘easy work for you’. Didn’t look easy to me!
I reckon it looked easy up to rep 7. Could've channeled the inner didelydoo and got a 13 biggrin
Diddlydoo would have got 20, momentarily died, resuscitated himself and got another 4 grinders.
laugh

That was my first set and I was determined to keep reps as strict as possible. My final set was about 5 strict reps then another 5 with a bit of a dip.

Nice shoulder sesh at the gym, strength going up nicely as the bodyweight continues to drop, finished the day off with a 2k swim with my wife, shat her up when we were way out when I told her the Porbeagle was spotted again recently, her face was a picture.

3 x 10 inverted rows +22.5kg. 6 x 6 pullups +22.5kg. 4 x 8 curls @ 22.5 kg. 2 x 10 close grip chins + 22.5 kg.

Lockdown and gym closures have been quite rewarding as regards my weight training. As I've only got 'bells, bench, hyperextension machine and pullup/dip station I've had to be quite picky with the exercises. I've brought my left side up to strength/size with my right (particularly left biceps), and put some size on my shoulders. Leg training was a bit harder to ratchet up as I only had Bulgarian squats that I found challenging, as everything else hurt my back when holding onto the dumbbells. Managed a PB on single leg squats last week so not too shabby for lockdown training. Back in the gym next week for the leg press machine and give my sore knees a rest.

Worst run of my life this morning 4.7 miles all uphill. Took forever and felt physically nauseous near the end...calorie deficit perhaps kicking in? Now 115.3kg, which is 18st2lb.

4x4 @270kg deadlifts yesterday.
Loose straps, stiff bar and a 0.5cm deficit thanks to a knackered platform.
Moved like warmup reps, feeling really good during this peak!
I don't usually feel confident but I feel 400kg will happen! biggrin

Two swims, a full body workout, and a frantic 40 minutes racing on Zwift.

I'm hoping so, I'll get a better idea in the next few sessions as I go a lot heavier but so far everything feels solid. Just need to see what my grinding ability is like in this new position I've adopted.

I struggled at my peak strength. 300 just wouldn't come all the way up yet I could pull 280 for reps!! Something psychological at play there. Please note, long time ago now and al not go near those numbers again!! 292.5 was my max, no belt, no straps just chalk and a good pull!!

It doesn't matter what I did, I was back in the gym again this morning and that is brilliant.cloud9clap I have really struggled to do anything at home and the misery was getting to me.

I was amazed that the gym wasn't packed. 9am session, but even so, I thought everyone would be mad keen to get back.

At least you have the option, the topsy turvy lot up here have opened pubs, restaurants, shops...but gyms are too dangerous!!

I've largely been supportive of Sturgeon, but opening indoor pubs yet keeping gyms close is absolutely mental.

Especially the bigger gym with loads of space.

Yeah, not the thread for it but she has been clarity personified especially in comparison to some. But, physical and mental health comes second to alcohol sales?

Early swim, cold and rainy so only 20min swim time, then some benching at the gym, 120kg for 8 rep x3, then 1hr recovery bike ride.

Have done nothing today, that wee run yesterday wiped me out. Gonna start ensuring I get in a run every day and a cycle three times a week for next two weeks, final push before returning to work. Sitting at 115kg just now, decided to aim for 107kg, so if I can drop another 2 or maybe 3 in next fortnight I would be well on my way. Enjoying the weekends dirty eating though!!
