With the booking system for sessions at my gym not being for me I've been meaning to sort something out at home. Had an inkling Lockdown part 2 was coming so finally got myself sorted over the weekend.

A quick redecorate of the box room, although wallpaper is original. Some flooring picked up cheap because it was dirty and it was ready.

Picked up a half rack from a guy who was a PT and said he didn't use it because he could just train at the gym (he's devastated laugh)

The 7ft bar is too long, it's usable but changing weight is a pain so a 6ft bar has been ordered. Also ordered some of those adjustable dumbbells, 5-40kg, which covers most of my needs.

Perfect for me as I only really do the 3 main lifts. Just waiting for my hands to heal after Carpel tunnel surgery.

Fantastic! That's a great bit of kit

20mintues in the water today, tide is all wrong at the moment so not going in until it's almost dark, then 45 minutes on the turbo.

Along side my swimming I have started doing the Wim Hof method of breathing, I am now up to 2 minutes on the breath hold (on the exhalation), primarily I'm doing to help with stress/anxiety, however it's also making a difference in my physical performance.

The Hoka ones if you buy direct have a 30 day love them or return them and they also seem to be the best for the feet in terms of injuries from what I have read. I picked up some Reebok McLaren ones years ago for £40 and they were incredible. Everything I've tried since even at double the price has never felt comfortable. Hopefully it's not just marketing but the reviews for the Hoka ones really do sound worth it.
Hokas are supposedly very good. I know a couple of marathoners that swear by them.

Got in a slow half hour or so cycle last night with one of my dogs. Hugely enjoyable although I misjudged my time and the last ten minutes was cycling through woods and mud in the dark which was a new experience!!

15 minutes in the sea, then a tough 50 mins on Zwift, weight is now 190lb, that's 30lb loss since the new year.

Still on my lockdown routine and enjoying it.

Another update, I asked on a thread in the TV section about Halb - and turns out he is taking a break from PH for anyone else who was wondering, he used to post in the health section often.

Trying to get my head back in the game after a few months of not being there.

Work, being away from home, the COVID bullst, and life in general seemed to have got fully on top of me.

I've been training sporadically, on the bike a fair bit more, but generally been decidedly meh. Decided to sort my head out and took a few days off work this week to start things off on the right foot.

This week:

Monday - Squats up to s few singles at 110kg, 5x5 Romanian Deads @60kg, Leg Ext 5x10@55kg

Tuesday - 32km at 30km/h on the road bike

Today - Deadlifts up to 2 singles @155kg, about to hot Zwift for 30km of Zone 2 easy spinning

Aiming to train/ride/Zwift ride everyday this week...

I’ve taken 10 days off lifting to do some bodyweight stuff and cardio. I feel like st (mentally and, to a lesser extent, physical). I don’t do well when I’m not lifting.

Chest.

Incline Bench 6x10 @50kg
Decline Bench 5x10@40kg
DB Pullover Press 5x10@8kg DB
Cable Flys 5x10@12.5kg/side

I’ve really neglected chest that last 6 months and it definitely shows/feels... Got a cracking pump on though, so all good.
