First jog in an age, up and round the reservoir, likely less than a mile but I'm chuffed i did it. Gonna have a look at a few gyms this afternoon.

Great weekend of gym, swim, and bike, still persisting with my breathing exercises but stuck on 2 minutes for the hold.

Aaaaand Orban is now closing everything again - gyms to close at Midnight tomorrow. FFS. .

Will get a session in pre & post work then.

Curfew from 2000-0500... will be taking time during my work day to ride outside i think.

Birthday yesterday so birthday workout this morning: bodyweight squats 43 sets of 43 reps + 1 extra.

I think 43 is also the number of Ibuprofen I'll need to stop the aching in my knees...

Wow. Now that was a bad idea! Well done!

I’m still doing high-rep squats in the hope of managing 38 x 85kg for birthday squats next year. Horrid stuff

Sadly can't go to the gym here and isolating again this week after another contact with a pal who has come down with Covid, (despite strongly suspecting I had it when my gym buddy did, so doubting I could be contagious, but hey, we're allegedly in lockdown so why not?)
Last week it was 3 slow runs as I really need to get back into the running (I've hardly run for coming on for two years now). Online yoga Friday (awful) and today (not so awful).
Trying to do at least one set of 60+ press ups each day as I had become a bit ste at them.
Should really do a home HIIT session, but haven't the motivation or any weights for that.

We're not doing a circle jerk and stating the actual weights are we? biglaugh

Bench press x 4 sets
Deadlift x 4 sets
Ring pull ups x4 sets + ~10kg bike chain

I have a question... I'm relatively new to deadlifts, and I try and do running on alternate dates, am I best to do higher weight with lower reps? I.e. 6 max?
Or best just going for 8-12 as I do with bench?

Not building up.. .Just going for overall fitness, I don't want to kill my legs for running so trying to get a balance.

Circle jerk? Eh?

Folk have been talking about the weights lifted since Vol. 1 of this thread, and we're now on Vol.3 smile

Soreness will largely be dictated by proximity to failure and volume, rather than rep range. But most people find lowish reps quite good for deadlifts. 12 rep sets would be pretty challenging with any serious weight.

I should have said 11 reps max, if I can do 12 I would increase the weight. That's based purely on bench press though which is the only powerlift I have been doing for any time.

For deadlift, I'll aim for about 6-8 reps of a higher weight then and see how I get on. I'll stick with 4 sets as that's the most I can do in the time I have. I suppose ultimately I need to just try it out and see how I get on.

Thanks ORD.

I view 8 reps as a maximum for deadlifts, conventional, anyway.

I'll go a bit higher - ten reps with RDLs though.
