Finally felt up to a short 20min session... Gassing easily currently but I've hardly any fuel going in, so it's not a surprise...

Think I'm on c1500 calories a day if that; dropped a further 2kg over the last 10 days rolleyes

Anyways...

Bodyweight pull ups (narrow, supinated grip) supter-setted with dumbbell SLDL's - 5x5 pull ups > 5 x 10 with 25kg dumbbells

Tricep pushdowns super-setted with dumbbell curls - 5x10 with 30kg and 5x10 with 20kg and 25kg dumbbells

Bodyweight hangs - 4 x 45sec holds; 1st 2 sets were 3 fingers only and then final 2 sets were fingers only grip on widest supinated handles

More tomorrow (hopefully)...
Trying to stick to between 1500 and 2000 calories a day, weekends off. Weight shoukd shift but I need more cardio
I'm happy to get up the stairs currently without dying laugh No fuel in me = absolutely knackered all the time!

If you're reducing your intake that much the weight should drop off soon enough...
Last time I did this I combined it with jogging and cycling and weight did shift. Lost just over 7 stone!! I put a lot back on as you do, but am still four stone lighter than I was, but want to get back down to 17st.
I only jog / run when the ice cream vans setting off hehe Other than that; from age 8 to 21 playing rugby union then league covered all the running I wanted to do in my life biggrin

But get what you're saying.. I'm losing weight now (not in the ideal way, but it is coming off); I want to get down to 18/18.5 stone so I'll let my body keep doing what it's doing and I'll keep training where I can/when I feel up to it

Not being able to train legs is a killer though bar some SLDL stuff; they've lost so much size its worrying haha
My legs have never 'bulked up', even when I was quite strong!! I use squats and deads as part of a cardio type circuit now, so everything is more aimed towards fitness and weight loss...but, it's taking its own sweet time this time round. I'll get there. I can't run on roads anymore, knees really grumble

Mine grew like weeds; all through squats, deads, lots of zercher work and stones etc; but the key builder I think was the vertical leg press - that's ure weight on your legs. Not like an incline leg press where you can cheat it up etc

When I get my body sorted and I'm able to get onto legs again; I'll look to buy a vertical leg press as they're superb. As I can't squat heavy any more du to C5/C6 damage; the vertical leg press will be the next best thing; alongside zerchers and SLDLs thumbup

Managed another session today; back & chest (pull/push). I'm gassing quite easily now so took it steady...

Bodyweight pull ups x40 in blocks of 5 - wide grip

Reverse grip/wide grip pulldowns super-setted with flat bench - 20 x 30kg/20x40kg // 20 x 40kg/20x50kg // 20 x 45kg/20x60kg
Standing low pulley rows super-setted with flat dumbbell bench - 20x30kg/20x25kg // 20x35kg/20x30kg // 20x35kg/15x35kg

And gassed...

4 x 50sec bodyweight hangs and that was me finished

Good show man! I've been feeling a bit st this week, no workouts other than Tuesday but I'll get tomorrow morning and weekend. Feels like that bloody cough and yucky breathing is coming back, hopefully chase it away...likely self inflicted after a heavy holiday weekend... smile

Your different gravy Mac, no way I could train with the cough I've got. Coughing my guts up every morning and lungs full of glut, breath catching till everything clears. Had hoped to get this morning but no. Plenty weeks to come though. Have a great weekend when it comes all.

Aye - doing what I can when I can etc... Although all this sitting around isn't good for my wallet laugh

Bought 30kg, 32.5kg and 37.5kg dumbbells via Mirafit shop on eBay (they're returned or slightly B stock items); they landed yesterday and look brand new! Good saving though

Going to collect 40kg and 47.5kg dumbbells Saturday morning from someone selling them local to me who's tried & tried to sell them for silly money on eBay thinking it's lockdown price madness still hehe

Just need a set of 45s and 50s now to finish my collection

Going to get a set of 25kg bumper plates too for when I start to do more deads as the metal 50kg plates and 20s I've got damage the garage floor too easily but can't put rubber matting down as its the main walk-through where I do my deads in front of the powercube etc..

This morning: 4 sets alternating kettlebell shoulder press, 4 sets incline dumbbell press, 3 sets prone dumbbell lateral raise, 4 sets cable pushdown, 3 sets overhead rope extension, 5 sets pushups then finished with some stretching.

Whatever I seem to do at the minute my body seems to break down, it's infuriating! Right knee very painful again, left knee aching, right shoulder sore, right elbow sore, pulled right arm (brachialis or extensor), pulled left achilles. Maybe I should take the hint, cancel my gym membership and start vaping!

Welcome to my world laugh

Re your right shoulder/elbow - that could be your bicep tendons (exactly what it is with me and my right arm / elbow / shoulder etc) - long head bicep tendon affects my shoulder and my lower bicep tendon pulls on my elbow...

Plenty of how to's on YT to try and sort this; but I find compression sleeves when lifting heavy (which I'm not doing currently) help the most as well as properly warming up...

I've had some long needling done to alleviate the pain, which it does, but it's not fun!

Yes, this is the bay that I do 90% of my swimming in, pic taken this morning, from bed to beach is about 2 minutes on foot! sea temp around 12c at the moment should hit 17c by august fingers crossed.

I regularly read your updates for the amount of training you're putting in and wonder how you manage it with cortisol levels and sleep etc. I've previously gone heavy on training for months on end and it really affected my rest. These days I try and manage my output but it's nowhere near yours!

I personally never really had any issues when I was competing in powerlifting etc; I'd do 12 week training cycles too with a weeks break... Body soon got used to it

It's all about eating at the right times and the right foods; bananas in the evening help a lot FYI

I competed from 1999 to 2013, off in 2014 and did 2015 to mid 2017 and then decided to retire due to a few niggles that I didn't want to get worse than they already were (damaged C5/C6 and 2 torn shoulders); the training at times got mental, but that's the way it goes...

Similar, I used to train heavy every workout, every week, its just what my body was used to I guess. Touch wood no injuries from weightlifting and still have decent core strength because of it.

Our beach was lovely when I got home so took a very slow 1.8 mile 'jog' along the sand with our wee dog, see how the knees hold up...(dodgy knee from a fall several years ago now)

Well it doesn't get easier with age! For me sleep is the biggie, if I can get decent kip then I feel really good, then diet is a fairly close second, 90% clean the rest is stuff I really like that keeps the cravings at bay, if you enjoy it then it just becomes second nature.

Great for fishing, Bass and Mackerel are plentiful, some really big Tuna too further out, oh and a visiting Porbeagle shark last year, thankfully he didn't stay.

Another session in the bag today which is a good thing...

Bodyweight chin ups for a change to start with; wide grip too. 40 all in in blocks of 5 again - keeps the shoulders happy; great for hitting the lower lats too

Then biceps for the Friday pump hehe

- Oly bar curls: 20x bar, 20x 30kg, 20x35kg and finished with 20x40kg
- Dumbbell curls: 20 x 15kg, 20x15kg, 15x20kg, 10x22.5kg (20kg dumbbells and holding onto a 2.5kg plate) laugh
- Standing low pulley curls: 4 x 20 with 20kg on the pins - kept elbows dug into my sides to keep them as strict as possible

Finished with bodyweight hangs with 3 finger grip only on wide supinated grip handles; 4 x 35seconds

Grip tomorrow I think thumbup

Just completed the Badger Divide, 220 miles off road from Inverness to Glasgow.

Tough and technical, even more so on a cyclocross bike with only a small rear cassette and semi compact up front.

My legs hurt more than my arse

Time for a cuzzer with the rest of the lads.

Yeah I've seen its superb for all that smile

The cloest I have to me, that's similar, is Anglesey, which is superb at times... But I bet it doesn't get as warm as down there
