O yeah alcohol is defo in the acidic pile, red wine seems to be the only thing he can get away with, maybe the odd fruit cider

No, at first they thought he was just really ill, then when it was determined as chrons he had some sort of injection regularly which worked but then that gave him awful car sickness and severe skin dryness which he has only just recovered from. About a yeah between diagnosis and getting the pills but 4 years and only 1 flare up after a bit too much birthday cake
I’m glad you mentioned the injections, was it Humira? I started on them last November due to abscess and fistula problems, all that has now cleared up but the dry skin on my face has become quite embarrassing, it’s bloody awful! No car sickness though, thankfully.

I think it was yes. If you go to the GP and get dermol 500 or cetraben it will clear up, they are great moisturisers and the dermol is anti microbial so can be used for soap

I was recently found to have that from a biopsy. Slightly puzzled as I has to take two antibiotics (as well as my usuallu PPI) but only for a week, then wait two weeks and go back to the specialist for a breath test to check it had gone. When I went she wouldn't do the test and said the protocol is to asume it's worked.

She was was surprised I'd taken the anti-biotics for the whole week - she said many people can't tolerate them. They didn't have any effect on me at all, and I felt just the same at the end of the course as I had at the beginning.
I'm pooping normally again! laugh No more almost uncontrollably timed explosive "episodes". smile

I have the breath test on Monday morning to check the Helico bacteria's gone, but I'm feeling MUCH better than I have for a very long time, years, in fact, and that's even with an enormous increase / added stress at work in recent weeks, and a (thankfully negative) cancer scare in the last 2 weeks. (Just had an ultrasound today, all clear - TFFT!)

Had this all my life. Last year prescribed loperamide 6mg in one hit every morning. This cleared everything and still has. It’s also allowed me to try different triggers. The only one that still triggers is double whipped cream ! Even then at first sign two more loperamide stop it.

Changed my life as I suffered terribly and tried every med known. Life is good and can be far more adhoc now.

Breath test this morning, was easier / faster than those I had for allergy tests.
Breathtest + wait 20 mnins.
Drink OJ. Breath test. Wait 10 mins.
Breath test.
Results will be with my GP in 2-3 days.

Loperamide: I have some in case I get diarrhoea, but not to take "in case" as as a prevention.

Taking 3 x Spasmomen / daily (2 in a.m., 1 at night)
Cerevesia pro-biotic (1 in morning)
Fybogel (equivalent) 1 in morning, 1 at night
