I'll join in, better late than never... do feel I need a bit of help/advice though! Much like the original post on the original thread, I work in an office, have no friends locally (all 40 mins away) so I failed last time I joined a gym as I lost interest / motivation after a few tough trips.
Knee injuries in my late teens, piled on the weight steadily since! I'm now 28, 6'2" and I'll weigh myself tomorrow morning but I think I'll be approaching 125kgs. I want to get sub 100kg and not be embarrassed going swimming etc...
Diet is my biggest issue. Often work late, have lunch between appointments and just end up eating poorly Keep thinking of putting together a strict 7 day meal plan but despite looking into it repeatedly, I struggle to think of meals as I'm certainly not a chef!
Any advice on where to start? Weight loss is the main goal, a bit of fitness/conditioning along the way would be great too.

I've just started today current weight this morning was 14stone, I'm just under 6ft. I used to weigh around 11stone 13lb up until 4-5 years ago and had run London Marathon twice use to go gym 3-4 a week I felt / looked fit, however I broke my foot twice once in 2014 and then 2016 also we had a kid in 2016 which killed me exercising. I now feel a right fatty I know 14 stone not massive for my height but I don't wear the weight well I get fat face and big set of moobs.
I want to get down to around 12 stone again, at current weight I feel a slob and dress like one to, I'm ok eating in the day, but its night time munchies that are the issue. I cant see to stop myself and when I do wake and go down stairs to eat I feel like I'm still a and have willpower to stop myself,

The only thing i will say, as a fellow struggler, is don't be self conscious at the pool. No one gives a fk what you look like, they're too busy with doing their own thing. And, by the way, as I'm sure you'll know the traditional fat-blokes trick of wearing a t-shirt in the pool only draws more attention to yourself.good luck with the rest, its mostly common sense.
Feeling veeeery tired this past week but I've started to run 5k 3 times a week. I strongly suspect that not eating the calories burnt running is the cause of tiredness.
For the new guys joining the thread, welcome and good luck. My only advice is to try a particular method of losing weight and stick with it for a few weeks, if it's not working for you then try something else. Over the years I've used low-carb and cutting sugar out, this time I'm using calorie counting with Myfitnesspal.

Really had a word with myself on Monday. Restarted using MFP and that's helped a lot for accountability. Going on holiday soon to a hotel with buffet breakfast and supper, so that can either be a total winner or disaster. Planning on the former, with the occasional bacon and eggs thrown in.
As for the quick work lunches, I too struggle sometimes so I've taken to making sure I have a few snacks about, like bananas, popcorn packs etc, but never too many of the "treat" stuff like popcorn, or its too easy to have more than one. The other think I've done (other than MyFitnessPal, or MFP) is get some microwave rice and tins of something interesting, like chilli, or curry. I have half on day one, and half on day two. Again, a bit of willpower, but a half serving keeps me going all afternoon even after a hard run, so it's a very easy win. Beats the hell out of a tesco meal deal that leaves you hungry at 3pm.
The other thing I now do to add variety to my chilli-rice combo is over-make supper the night before. Do two extra portions and the OH and I get a healthy lunch. Forces me to make something good for supper too, so it's win-win.

Edited as I'd done my maths wrong!
My plan is to get to 15 Stone (95.7kg) by the time I go on holiday in 2 weeks, but I'm not certain I'll get there at this rate. I had a motivation boost earlier when facebook reminded me that I went to the 'Ring a year ago, and this was one of the pictures that stood out, against what I look now;
I started all this back in July last year, and while I'm nowhere near as hardcore now as I was then (Sold my car to cycle everywhere, stopped drinking alcohol altogether) It's a nice little kick
