God ,this brings it all back.ihad mine done about 15 years ago and it cost about £900.i went private so I could choose the date.be real carefully when you trim the hair off your nuts.dont try a razor as nicks hurt.i used nail scissors and still managed to look like I had set off a hand grenade in my pants.on the day I was taken into the theatre wearing a pair of string shorts.i had a screen put across me so I couldn't see my tackle, but I could see the surgeon and the three female nurses at the sharp end.i think he was selling tickets, although by this point I wasn't sure there was much to look at.at my end I was being comforted by the gayest male nurse I have ever seen.i had a local anaesthetic in each bk that was very uncomfy/painfull.after that, all good.i was chatting to the gay bloke and smilling at the nurses.i went back to work next day, although I was a bit carefully and taking paracetamol. After 3 days there was a bit of careful rogering to make sure it still worked.at 3 months and 6 months I gave a sample from home in a pot.and at the all clear no more other methods of contraception. I had no pain after a week or so.the other alternative is wait long enough and your Mrs will no let you go any where near her except on your birthday.good luck.

I brought this topic up with my missus and she said she'd never want me to get it, if an unexpected sprog comes along we'll deal with it...

I'm only 26 and nowhere near planning anything yet, but I think it's the way to go once we have the juniors we want

Been thinking about this for a while. 32 now, 2 kids so all done on the kids front. Our first is 5 next week, and was a "surprise" shall we say, my wife was on the pill, then was prescribed anti-biotics that reduced the effectiveness of said pill, we found this out after she fell pregnant. Absolutely no regrets regarding our children, but don't fancy a 3rd through a similar situation. As others have said, the 10% chance of long term pain is a bit too high for my liking.

Had mine done in January after 2 kids. 33 years old.

One scalpel wound and the pipes cut.

The injections were the worst part. They hurt.

One side was easy the other took a few injections of anaesthetic. "Does that hurt?" "YES!" (Sweating wimpering voice)

The pulling on the pipes before they cut was gut wrenching, like a kick in the balls, though not painful as such.

The noise was nasty. Kind of like cutting bacon fat. No cauterising, so I'm guessing tied off.

In and out of the surgery in about half an hour.

Supportive pants you are given to go home in are something else. Stuck to the wound, so when I tried to take them off that night, it opened up. The sight of blood coming from my coin purse made me have a funny turn.

Next few days were uncomfortable. Big Bruised Berries. Three days or so it was OK to do most things. For a month or two, kept getting pains when sitting for a while, driving etc.

Sampled after three months. Not clear. Nothing moving but still residuals. Sample 'taken' at home and then delivered to path lab at the hospital. Has to be within an hour of 'release'.

6 months on, awaiting results of second sample.

Libido better than ever. Never done it so much. Can't wait for the all clear.

Not really any pain now. The odd twinge but nothing major. Can feel the cut off ends though. Which is weird.

Had mine done 4/5 years ago.

Don’t have time right now, but have a story if extreem pain, blood weeks after, long term pain to this day, etc

Although still worth it.

Birth control. Stop partner having to take hormones, which have side effects. Take responsibility for my place in society. Choose sterilisation method with least complications for the two of us. Umm, do we need more?

You know that she can still get pregnant without you actually blowing your load inside don't you? Plus there is no better feeling.

It does make you wonder... Maybe some people are just tougher/make less fuss about things than others? or the person who did you wasn't a trained doctor?

Your experience sounds very different to mine. I turned up and had it done, which was far less unpleasant than having a tooth filling for example. I walked out without assistance and my Dad (who'd had the same experience about 30 years earlier) gave me a lift home.

I think I'd still choose my experience over a filling :haha:

I walked out fine and had a lift home but it was an unpleasant experience on the table. I did wonder when I was told you will be seen by doctor X, only to met by doctor y on the day!

Yep mine was easy, the only issues was a lack of enough anaesthetic when being cut at some point; smarted a bit but that was soon alleviated with an almost instant top up injection.

Bit of discomfort for a week or so but that was it, I've a friend who's bks went black and got huge though.

I suspect that a "true PH'er man", as well as being a powerfully built director who needs 400bhp to be safe and requires 64GB of HD stimulation, has the penile control of a professional performer whilst with his former Olympic gymnast, yoga instructor, lingerie model wife.
