Using MFP again...little bit scary. I was making some wraps, breaded chicken, lettuce, bit of ketchup and tiny bit of cheese.

In the chicken alone its 47% of my fat target a day...in three bits! Very scary. 1,000 calories in total for lunch...think I've found my problem ha.

Dinner I've got some chicken sausages, veg and rice...I'm scared to check on MFP ha.

The thing I found when using MFP before was it would make me under eat significantly and obsess over each calorie. On one hand it's a great tool, on the other it can cause dangerous problems.

It's good to spot a problem with what you're eating, be it portion size, certain ingredients or whatever but I think using it constantly is a mistake. (Just my opinion though)

Yeah I had that a few years ago. Lost six stone but made myself ill with calorie counting etc. Won't go to that extreme, but its useful to find out what I believed was healthy, wasn't! Will find something else to stick in the wrap rather than breaded chicken...maybe just normal chicken breast.

You don't need to over-complicate everything, unless there is an underlying medical condition, the basics work just as they always have since the dawn of Humankind.

I realise you have taken a dislike to my posts on PH generally, but toughen up, stop being emotionally weak. I know I can be annoying at times, I was banned from that other Thread for teasing you, I get it. It's just a Forum on the Internet, lighten up, it ain't personal, it ain't serious. smile

Except it doesn't work at all, as proven by several medical studies which I've previously linked to. Even in this thread alone there's pretty much all the evidence (at least anecdotally) one could ever want. From a quick glance at least 90% of those in the 'off the wagon' table were doing calorie restriction and have given up because their weight loss stopped and/or it was too hard. Of the remaining 'players' the majority are also doing some form of calorie restriction and we now see week after week of no losses or miniscule losses like 0.5 lb which is just a good bowel movement and even people putting the weight back on. Why? Because calorie restriction doesn't work! A few months of losses on the scales until your BMR artifically adjusts itself to compensate for you starving your body of calories and then the losses stop. The only reason it has worked for you is because by your own admission you are doing 4-5 hours of high intensity training every day so you're burning off the fat before it even gets chance to be stored. You could stuff your face with take-aways, beer and ice cream every day and still lose (or at least maintain) your weight; it's got nothing to do with calorie restriction. No normal person is going to be in a position to do 4-5 hours of high intensity training every day and most folks with a full-time job are likely to struggle to do 4-5 hours in an entire week.

The only people "over-complicating everything" are those such as yourself with your CICO nonsense laugh. I eat what I want, I fast for a day or two. Simple, easy, complete control over my weight and a method that has been proven to work since caveman days thousands of years ago where they'd often have to go for days or weeks without eating if their hunt for food was unsuccessful. It clearly worked then - otherwise the human species would have died out and we wouldn't be here today - and it still works today. No cost, no effort, no requirement for calculators and phone apps to measure how many calories I'm consuming wobble and no need to flog myself to death down the gym every waking hour in a desperate attempt to make the scales move. The moment you cut the exercise all the weight you've lost will start to pile straight back on.

I saw your post in a quote and it didn't even register on my radar. I think your ban from the thread was probably more to do with you posting hysterical and uneducated climate change nonsense, much like you do with your uneducated CICO nonsense in this and the keto threads wink. The only reason I have taken a dislike to your posts is because you have a tendency to post opinion as fact and - especially in this thread - are leading people who are desperate to lose weight down a dead-end road with your CICO guff. I'm not an expert and will never claim to be one but I've spent many many hours researching the subject from a wide variety of sources and official medical studies that have been done, also reading up on the biology and chemistry of how the human body works, how food is processed and a full understanding of the hormonal triggers that occur when you do and don't eat, hence why I will often challenge you when I see you posting your CICO pish as I can back it up with facts - something that I've yet to see you do (note: doing 4-5 hours HIT every day is not "proof" that CICO works).

"I eat what I want,"

Except when what you want is alcohol, pizza and ice cream and then the weight goes back on. Funnily enough when you cut that carp out it comes off, nothing remarkable there.

3.45k on the treadmill in 30 minutes. Quite a bit less than last time thinking about it. But I really wasn't feeling it. Glad I went though.

Couple of days off from the gym now. Got to be good eating wise, I look after my brother tonight and tomorrow and its easy to raid his chocolate draw...

Food wise today. I've gone back to Weetabix for breakfast instead of Frosties. It's boring, horrible but it needs doing. Frosties can be my treat smile.

Lunch is chicken wraps...not breaded chicken this time, chicken breast instead.

Dinner last night was really nice and filling. Two chicken sausages, rice and veg. Tiny bit of cheese and ketchup. Bonus is I can do it the day before, stick it in a box and take it to work the next day (bonus of being a delivery driver with a fridge and freezer on the van!). What is reheated rice like?

Been a lazy sod over the last 3 weeks, lost 4.5kg right at the beginning in Jan, was slowing putting it back on, lost some, then did nothing over Easter and managed to gain 2kg over the last 3 weeks,

I have motivation in that a friends stag weekend is now booked in Spain for September and we are planning to do loads.

Will aim for 1 kg a week until the end of May, then half a kg for until im down to 85.

The progress table is starting to look dusty again in places. No status updates in over 3 weeks :

All fallen off and to be moved to the 'given up' table? frown

Emicen and MHB also about the drop off the radar too;.

The remaining active 'player' list is starting to look rather sparse.
Not given up, just rarely on this section of PH on a device I can update the table with.

Just chicken, lettuce and a tiny bit of cheese, ketchup and a bit of pepper.

Was really nice with chicken breast. Cooked two and cut them up, could get away with just one I think.

my big push didn't go well, up 500g to 98kg.

Think I performed well in my two training sessions though, and I don't feel like I've been run over by an bus after sparring anymore, more like an medium SUV, so that's a bonus smile

Come down a bit this week, 3 pounds but mainly just down to a change.

Am going to avoid drinking until my holiday, can I do the next 89 days without booze ? managed January quite easily and I find I cant lose weight when alcohol is involved. I am determined to get into the nice clothes I bought for our last holiday 2 years ago when I was two stone lighter. I have put fat on but I have also put muscle on so its not all lard, prob 3/4 of it though.

So, 2 stone in 89 days, already feel different after a week.

16.8 today

Decided to take some photos. They might get posted in the future!

Gym today. Weight day.

I have popped myself back on the active list, I did fall off the wagon for a few weeks due to a holiday and a niggly injury that stopped me running. I thought'd i hadn't put any weight back on but in reality I was just avoiding the scales.

Back with a vengeance over the last week and I am back down to my lowest weight and ready to kick on. I was encouraged by friends to join them on a 10K run over the bank holiday and had a great time, also banked a new 5K PB at parkrun this weekend so i am very positive at the moment. Need to make sure I keep logging my weight, the last few weeks proved that if I don't then I just gradually put the weight back on.
