OP here, anyone remember me?
Just weighed myself, down to 93.5kg. Apologies for vanishing from the thread for so long, we moved back into our house in May following last years flooding so all this look after myself and eat sensibly was out of the window, turns out that wasn't a massive issue as I have been flat out redoing all of our landscaping etc, dropped a kilo in 4 months without actually watching what I ate or doing any specific exercise beyond DIY.
Anyway I am back on the wagon, job this week is to tidy up my office and get my "workout" area back up and running again.
Well done to everyone losing weight, sticking with it old and new!

Today is the day.
Just checked my weight for today and.... finally reached my goal! 6 stones lost in just less than 8 months.
1 January :
= 17 stone 9 lbs
28 August :
= 11 stone 9 lbs.
It's been quite the journey with many ups and downs along the way.
Gone from 36"/38" jeans/formal kecks to 32" with a belt/comfortably, and 2-3XL shirts down to M/L depending on cut.
Got to give a 'shout out' to geeks for starting the thread as it's proved to be just the motivator I needed to get my st together. It's 99% likely without it I'd be over 18 stone now so "cheers" to you Dan if you're still lurking, sir.
LT, just saw this, massive congrats dude, that's properly impressive! Just started this thread to get my st together, never thought something like this would happen.Just checked my weight for today and.... finally reached my goal! 6 stones lost in just less than 8 months.

Nice idea for a thread.
I just found it now when looking for reviews of using Vit D and omega 3 supplements
I'm 6 weeks into a major lifestyle change brought on by diagnosing 30 somethings with diabetes, high cholesterol, HTN and the like. I kinda shat myself thinking I better do something before I end up on the receiving end of a similar diagnosis because I'm the same age as my patients, look the same, talk the same, probably eat the same too.
Started at 119kg exactly 42 days ago and 109.8kg this morning. Pretty pleased with 9.2kg lost in 6 weeks
I'm training at decent intensity 3-4 times a week which is new for me. I'm doing it with some well established gym goers which helps with technique and motivation.
Hoping to build some muscle, lose a lot of fat and end up around 85-90kg. 85kg would be great. 20-25kg to go. No specific target date or anything
I am eating porridge for breakfast with some berries, salad for lunch with two poached eggs, two fruit snacks, anything for dinner but a small portion and loaded with salad to fill me up. Carb portion for dinner is palm sized if rice/pasta or one pitta if I'm eating that. I used to eat whole packets of kettle chips (150g) in the past and packets of walls twisters etc at a time. No junk at all for 6/52.
And starting Vit D and omega 3 supplements when they arrive in the post.
Keep up the good work everyone.

Now back following the craziness of the wedding, prior prep and honeymoon.
I missed the 105kg I targetted at the beginning of the year, for the big day I was about 116kg, so down about 11kg from start - half way there....
Now back I've seemingly put on a couple of KG which I'll look to tackle over coming months and continue working down toward my 100kg target, albeit not as aggressively as Q1 2019 when the bulk of my losses were made.

No idea how I’ve managed this if I’m honest, I went out for a burger on Friday, had Burger King in my hotel room on Saturday night and had the most expensive hot dog and chips on the country at Brands Hatch yesterday.
Posting anyway even though it’s a day late and shouldn’t count...
A miraculous 0.4kg!

Hey Rob, I posted a couple of weeks ago that this happens sometimes (when you have a bad week, but the scales say different!!) but there's no need to take the mickey a fortnight later...... . Just remember this when you have a great week but put on half a stone!!
I've lost another 0.7kg this week, making 17.4kg lost in 15 weeks. Definitely plateau-ing right now, that's only 2.8kg lost in five weeks now. But a mate of mine that runs a spin class has bought me a heart rate & fitness monitor to measure my exercise levels and also suggested that maybe shorter, sharper walks mixed in with my usual longer walks is the way to go to reboot my metabolism.
Generally over the last 3-4 months, I've done walks of 2-3 miles at a quite steady pace (37-40 minutes) but also done lots of 6-7 mile walks at a similar pace (2 hours). The idea now is to get my heart going a little quicker and also test myself a bit, so this morning I did a walk that I normally do in 40 minutes in less than 34 minutes. Felt good and I'll do this now five days a week, around lunchtime. I generally walk on a cycle path next to an unlit steam railway track so at night, it's awkward to walk. Doing the walks at lunchtime means I can work, then walk, then work again and it splits the day up nicely. At weekends then, I will continue the 7 mile walks, maybe try a little quicker pace and see if that reboots my body.
Overall though, I am happy with losing 17.4kg (2 stone 10 pounds) in 15 weeks.

I did 32k last year, down from 118 to 86, June to December, so 7 months, by counting calories and sticking to 1200 per day. Since then I've crept back to 96k, mainly due to drinking too much vino.
I've now set myself a target of getting back down to 86k by Christmas so I can still wear the clothes I bought last year. So that's 10 weeks at 1k per week.
Should be ok if I stay off the booze for a while.

Good luck Rat. That was my target at the start of my challenge; to lose a kilo a week for a year (as an average). I knew I'd get ahead of the numbers to start with in the knowledge that it will slow down later on in the year.I've now set myself a target of getting back down to 86k by Christmas so I can still wear the clothes I bought last year. Clothes are a great barometer of how your losses are going. Although last week, I prematurely went in a hole on my belt, only to bust it when I bent down to pick up the post from the doormat. Now, I think I'll leave it a couple of weeks....

You’re so close to the 80s now Rob. Your efforts are paying dividends. Doesn’t seem like that long ago you were trying to get out of the 100s. Posting anyway even though it’s a day late and shouldn’t count...

Good progress Marty. Personally I found that exercise didn't make a jot of difference to my weight loss progress. A whole lot of effort and sweat for, well, nothing really, except being a bit fitter than I was when I started. For me the entirety of my 6 stone weight loss was purely from changing my diet and eating pattern, specifically : reducing to one meal per day in the evening - no breakfast, dinner or snacking - and making sure it was high in satiety, so meats/proteins/fats mainly, and not pay any attention to calorie numbers because my body would naturally tell me when I was full - none of this CICO bullst you hear the broscience crowd banging on about. Give or take some noise either side, I was losing on overage 1.6 kg per week / 1 stone per month.I've lost another 0.7kg this week, making 17.4kg lost in 15 weeks. Definitely plateau-ing right now, that's only 2.8kg lost in five weeks now. Currently maintaining at 80kg (74kg got me too many comments about being looking gaunt) and my body seems happy here. I stick to mostly keto stuff through the week to keep me feeling full up and I can enjoy some ice-cream and a 1.5 L bottle of my favourite Saisnburys TTD fresh orange juice with bits (!) once a week and drop back down to 80kg by the following week. I've still not had a pizza this year! I used to have 2-3 family size pepperonis every week when I was 17+ stone .
