Had a naughty night last night. Very annoying. But I'm not too fussed if I can restrict it to the occasional night.
Will have to compensate it by doing some heavy lifting later today. Got my weekly weigh-in tomorrow morning.
Phew, lost another 3lbs this week. That's 7lbs in a fortnight - well chuffed! Will have to compensate it by doing some heavy lifting later today. Got my weekly weigh-in tomorrow morning.

Disappointed this week, I’m only down 0.2kg to 113.1kg. I wanted to be in the mid/high 112s this week.
Still, a loss is a loss and that’s 5kg since the start of December and almost 3kg in 20 days so I suppose I should be happy with it.
Starting with the running in the evenings again now I can breathe without coughing my lungs up again so I’m sure that’ll help.

It needs to be long term, I am just really aiming on a pound to two pounds a week, the sad truth is you cant just drop a load of weight double quick and return to old habits, I got down to 14.7 and am now 16.8 so can attest to that.
Honestly chaps, spend £30 on some of those scales I linked earlier, seeing it on a graph really helps, I am going to endeavour to weigh myself every day, its a good reality check every morning and you want to see the line go down, or stay flat.
Had a takeaway last night, 0.8 pounds heavier than yesterday but I know that I havent had enough calories to put on almost a pound, its not the odd blowout that puts the weight on really, its normal days where you go a number of calories over every day, so the inverse works but we dont notice until our pants dont fit.
It goes on slowly, if you think, losing two pounds a week on a diet is do-able as a sustainable and sensible target, but you never really (except for Christmas or an all inclusive) put two pounds on a week, that would be 104 pounds in a year, an extra seven stones or so.

I'm amazed how much st people seem to eat, there are a few posts about "accidental" dirty food; if you are eating this stuff whilst trying to lose weight, how much of it were you eating in the first place.
My weight gain is predominantly booze, I've not touched a drop since New Years Eve, I was given some cider yesterday, I've not touched it, even though we had people round last night.

2 pounds of fat loss (7k calories)would require a calorie deficit of 1k a day, which longterm is a lot really, only monitoring fat loss is important overall to monitor true weight loss.Best approach is record all calories in, truthfully.
Yeah, thats a good point, should have put one to two pounds, maybe even less but the point is really that you will get some wide fluctuations day to day but its the overall trend is what matters, i.e. what your weight is fluctuating around, is the line going down as an average over time.1000 cal a day deficit is pretty hard to sustain I guess, 500 being more realistic, 250 off what you eat and 250 cal of exercise is fairly easy.

Managed to lose about 2 stone early last year but seem to have put all of it plus a bit more back on thanks to a stressful change of job plus the festive season (yeah, I know, excuses etc.)

I can't function if I don't have breakfast. I have that at about 7.30, lunch at around 12-12.30 and tea (evening meal if you're posh) at about 6.30. I try and eat at the same time every day including weekends.
So far this year I've managed to avoid crisps and the only snacks I've had have been Cadburys eclairs, they have been in limited quantities though, I had 5 last night which is very restrained for me!
I'm finding my fitness pal quite interesting, I went swimming this morning and it's saying that despite having cereals for breakfast and a roast beef dinner I still have nearly 2000 calories to consume today, I know it's all theoretical stuff but it gives me a bit of flexibility to eat more some days or slack off the exercise a bit.
I am feeling a whole lot better though, I have loads of energy.

I posted that earlier in the thread but it was roundly poo-pood as being meaningless because apparently BMI isn't used as a measure anymore.Gassing Station | Health Matters | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
