Weight, health, fitness, sleep, attitude & life is managed well & has had no ill effects with my drinking.
Its likely drinking is impacting all of the above but the change is so subtle over time you don't notice.
If you do want to quit, give that Allan Carr book a go. I've tried to quit twice and failed but after reading it over the weekend I am not sure I'll ever look at alcohol the same way again. I don't feel like I want to drink anymore, but its early days, we will see....

I will suggest you to not drink at all, I used to smoke a lot and in the end I got sick and now I am not even getting recovered, and now I regret that why I even started smoking at the first place, so I think we should avoid this.

It's human nature quite often to not do something about a problem habit until it's too late. What I would say to you is at least you're still here even if you regret what you did in the past and you probably would have been even worse if you had not stopped.

I've been taking some serious action with my drinking. I'm 40 this year and in some ways I could count myself lucky I'm still here the way I used to go on. I have a few minor health quibbles but hopefully I have taken action in time.

Your advice is generally sound though, don't wait until it's too late to change...

If you have minor issues with your health now at 40 fast forward to 45 and those minor may be compounded further or added to with others.

A bottle of spirits a week min is not good.

I used to smoke, not a great deal but I started getting chest infections. I stopped full stop in 1999. Not one since. If I had carried on who knows what condition I'd be in now. My job can be quite physical so I'm glad I took the action when I did.
