Reading on Mac Rumours the next iWatch may have a glucose sensor? If true that surely is a game changer for Diabetics.
Yep that rumour has been circulating for a few months. It's hard to imagine how it could be anything more than a 'we think your blood glucose is high, get checked out because you might have diabetes'. There are too many variables otherwise and a Libre or similar is surely going to be what you need to manage diabetes. I'm excited to find out though.

I have a Libre Freestyle at the mo, the iWatch would give ultimate convenience in checking regularly, as if you say - it will be accurate!?

You can get some sort of lash up that does that. MiaoMiao

TBH I don't see how the Apple Watch would be more convenient. The Libre sits on your arm and as long as you scan every 8 hours you get 24/7 coverage. You can scan with your phone, which you'll have on you anyway.

The Apple Watch will need charging daily so there will always be data missing.

I got freestyle libre sensor 2 prescribed the other day and it didn't have the alcoholic wipes inside. Anyone else noticed this? Seems a bit of an extreme cost cutting measure if so.

The instructions still tell you to wipe with and alcoholic wipe but funnily enough I don't keep these in stock!

Yep, both of the boxes I picked up last time did not include any wipes.

It shouldn't be a cost cutting measure. As wipes go the included ones are cheap as anything and they are needed to remove oils in the skin sufficiently to ensure the sticky back lasts two weeks. I'm hoping it's just a weak batch.

I noticed this too, I usually only use 1 so had a couple spare

I don't suppose these are medically approved.

Another sensor pack straight from the pharmacist with no wipes included.

Not sure who this should be raised with or if they would even care. Maybe it is a permanent change.

3rd week of omnipod now and I’m getting days and days of results like this. It’s brilliant, after 25 years of injections I’ve not had one for 23 days.

Congrats.

Going though a stressful time at the moment. BS haywire, pumping insulin like crazy, enough to fell an ox, struggling to keep it below 20 today.

I've been the opposite for the last couple of weeks. Keep dropping overnight. Think it might be the heat.

As noted in this thread about three months ago, I had a similar couple of weeks. I needed to double my daily Bolus for no apparent reason, and still had high sugars. Now back on track again after a Basal adjustment upwards. Not sure why I needed to change so dramatically though?

It will get in target again.....

Yes I know, sometimes it's easy to feel a bit maudlin about the whole thing.

I know the cause, stress, I can ride it out.

Anyone else using an iPhone with a Libre 2 had problems scanning recently?

I've had three faulty in the past week (two from prescription and one replacement from Abbott). I will have to try the second replacement with the Libre reader.

Really disappointing it's suddenly unusable and I've had to go back to finger pricks.

I seem to be getting “signal lost” every hour.

I tried with a Samsung android, functionality scanning etc rubbish.

Gone back to reader. Fits easily into a pocket, enables one handed scanning, driving, work gloves etc and because its light fumbling and dropping isn't a problem.

I have been using the Libre 2 app, I found this much more realistic than just using the more accurate blood sample machine. I would normally test myself when I know I am feeling bad or when I know I have my levels under control.
The Libre 2 gives me and the Doctor a better picture which I can't lie about either to myself or Her.

I have not had wipes in my Libre2 pods since July.

My levels average about 5.8 -6.2 and I use Novorapid, maybe 6-8 units a day.
Over the past year I have been swimming every morning which has levelled things out alot instead of adjusting my medication or having to eat things as my levels bombed.

Those levels sound very good! Mine are often at those levels but more as a fleeting glance as the blood sugar's plummet or rise through them. smile

I 'think' I am experiencing the seasonal change again as I saw earlier this year. My blood sugar's keep dropping low, so adjusting basal again as I did six months ago. I wonder whether the colder temps mean my body is using more sugars to keep warm, or something like that????

Libre is giving me far more confidence in adjusting this nowadays though.....
