Just want to say well done mate! Read your story from the start and really chuffed for you.

I’m not getting involved in the different diets to loose weight argument, as in my view what works for one person probably won’t work for another, but the fact it works for YOU is what counts!

I went from 22 1/2 stone to 12 1/2 stone in a year and a half, so I understand what your going through, keep those certificates, put them somewhere obvious and be proud of them! Great reminder and incentive maker!

I went for the classic calorie deficit approach after seeing a private nutritionist at the gym and learning about macros, calories, BMR, TDEE etc, took up weights and running as a way of helping get fitter (always kept to the golden rule of “never eat the calories you burn during excerise” though)

MyFitnessPal is mentioned a lot, but it is great, super easy to use and also the more you use it, the more your common foods you eat are stored on it, so the easier it is to use. I still track my food now, 1 year later, (current streak is over 500days consecutively tracked)

Last year I ran three half marathons in around 1:45 (I’m 48 years old now and had never run before) and in 3 weeks I’m attempting the Barcelona Marathon.... something that would have been impossible for me 2 years ago.

And that’s what I love about losing the weight..all the things that were impossible before, now aren’t! Paragliding, going scuba diving and being able to fit into a standard wetsuit, running, going to normal clothes shops, amusement rides, fitting in plane seats without extra belts or holding your breath for 21/2 hours! It is worth it!

Well done mate, keep it up and reap the rewards of the hard work!
