Eggs chopped up in a cup is the answer to everything, that is.

Flu? Try some eggs chopped up in a cup. Pain in the chest? Eggs chopped up in a cup will sort it. Broken your leg after a fall? Just need some eggs chopped up in a cup, that'll do it.

I've lost 3.5 stone in six months by walking 2-3 miles every day. That's the good news, the bad news is that I'm now just outside Glasgow and a long way from home!! No, seriously though, all that apart from being in Glasgow is true; I'm 51, very overweight and walking has helped immensely, as well as aiding my mental health too.

Until I started cycle commuting I was walking my journey home through the winter - about 3 miles - at a fast pace often in very cold weather (-10 common) and I could not believe the impact it had on my CV fitness.

Even now as a short cycle commute it’s had a positive impact. I do try and press on though.

I would agree with the mental health aspect too. I look forward to my cycling most days but I hated taking the subway.

agree with all of this - including egg in a cup. in fact i'm going to have it for breakfast all this week ;-)

walking - i had a back injury that meant i could do very little for almost 2 years, one thing that kept me sane, walking, everywhere, almost any weather, walked - went in for walking events, charity walks etc etc - possibly the most happiest i'd been for years and my weight was easily kept in check.

Simple,
As said above - calories in v calories out. Do not hold on to any, it will turn to fat.

I eat whatever I want but in moderation.

I have a C2 rower at home, use it 4 times a week at a good pace and a Life Fitness cross trainer. Also do some light dumbbell workouts.

In very good shape at 54 since cutting down naughty biscuits and cakes..

Avoid low fat stuff? Just track your macronutrients on myfitnesspal and make sure that you're in a calorific deficit. It really is that simple.
Yes, avoid low fat stuff. Most of it replaced the fat with sugar.

Yeah, I never really got the knack for it either. I can remember my wrestling coach telling me to just do something else whenever I used to warm up.

Skipping properly takes a lot of practice.

Calories in:Calories out is a very simple ratio. Chronology does not change this fact.

A six pack is made in the kitchen. It’s an old saying but very true.

Sure, I agree with you, I think what you posted is the old saying, I just don't think it's an old saying that's that accurate. biggrin
