Stamina is now building well. Did a 14k Rower session yesterday and today a 7k session on the HIIT machine. Why does the first 5 mins seem to be so hard to break mentally.

Weight down again but invariably will bounce between 14/3 and 14/5 over the next week. Hoping to see a 13 before Xmas. Hope everyone is managing to get to their gym ok.

Diet is going well. Not been perfect but not as bad as it could be. Being better with my plate sizes as well.

Gyms at work have opened up again which is good. Going before my early shift on Wednesday.

Just checking in and keeping myself honest...

I found the last lockdown tougher than expected which is strange as it was technically less strict than the one earlier in the year as well as having a defined end-date. I think I'm just weary of this year and as I live alone I've also found it harder not having mates or family over or going to visit them; although I'm in a 'bubble' with my mum as she's on her own, she lives 90 mins away so I only get to see her once a week at best. I planned to be back in the gym over the weekend but took the opportunity to go and see her Saturday as well as a day out at a National Trust site Sunday so I could see my brother and his family. That's more important to me right now.

That said, I do seem to be permanently fatigued at the moment; I got in from work Monday night and was in bed by 8pm and slept through. Yesterday I had needed to get some shopping done and by the time I was home it was half-7 and I hadn't eaten. All excuses but all, in their own way, valid. Speaking of fatigue it's reminded me....that the morning PT session I did the weekend before? I was utterly trashed energy-wise by early afternoon and slept a lot of the day and evening. It's weird, I've not ever had that before - strange times. There's a lot of pressure work-wise too at the moment which is probably compounding things. I'm on top of the multivitamins including vit D3 etc.

Thing is I do love the training and I really want to get back to it but right now I'm struggling to get my mojo back. Diet hasn't been the greatest over the last month but equally it hasn't been dire either. I've booked annual leave from the 18th and won't be back in the office until the 4th so hopefully a chance for some r'n'r and get the training and diet rebooted into the new year as well.

I've come this far, I'm not giving up now. Normal service will be resumed shortly...

Keep the faith Funk, you've come an amazingly long way based on what we see here!

I'm struggling a bit with motivation too - the weather is poo and I've been getting flak from the missus for prioritising getting out on my bike or on Zwift over doing annoying house stuff. Ah well! Just made a start on the 'Pebble Pounder' training programme on Zwift which will hopefully be decent, workouts are only 30 mins to start with which makes them a bit more manageable to fit into the day!

Up 0.2kg this week which is annoying but I've been struggling to meet my 1680cal target even with a bit of exercise most days so not a surprise really!

Off for Christmas so hoping to sneak in a fair bit of time on the bike and a few runs to minimise the weight gain over the period!

Well I'm an idiot.

Went to the gym at work. It's basic. Very basic. Dumbells, treadmill, bike, rower, cross trainer and some other weight thing.

Oh also have a bar for deadlifts and squats...but no squat rack...

Decided to do some cardio (I need to find a plan ideally but didn't want to put it off today).

On the treadmill with the plan of 5K. Did it in 27 minutes. Or so I believed. Then realised it was in KM and not miles as I thought...

Still, pleased that I went and ran as I hate it with a passion. Even more as the treadmill is in front of the mirror so get a good view of my tits bouncing up and down!

Chuffed to see that 0 this week but bouncing between 14 0 and 14 2 Morning/Evening. Picked up a decent set of Hex 12.5 KG dumbbells to work with also. Onwards we go.

Not used the wiki thing as - embarrasingly - I wasn't sure how to! confusedwobble

The story so far:

Started dieting in November 2018 after Type 2 Diabetes diagnosis and years of chronic back pain due to terrible posture (massive belly pulling me forward, hunching my shoulders) and huge weight exerting pressure on hips, knees and ankles.

Was a shocking 18st 13.5 lbs eek and I'm a short arse too!
Hba1c rating of 52
Put onto Ramipril 5mg daily for High Blood pressure.

By December 2019 had lost 5 and a quarter stone of the 7stone I set myself as an ultimate target and Hba1c rating dropped to 35 and no longer classed as Diabetic. Also was able to come off high blood pressure medication too. Walking and other exercise was a revelation - no more pain, no excess sweating - and actual enjoyment!
clap

Life was about as good as I can remember it as an adult yes

Then 2020 comes around and proper pi**ed on my chips - put back on just over 2.5 stones over the course of two fridge inhabiting lockdowns grumpy Started to feel the sluggishness and exertion of exercise, and some of the back discomfort coming back. Struggled terribly with negative thoughts and self loathing after feeling like I threw away all the hard work I'd put in.

Then I woke up and thought about it and reminded myself I still had lost nearly three stones, even after such a disappointing relapse. Three stones is still pretty damn good for a lifelong lardass.

That feeling was the kick up the backside I needed.

Now slowly but surely getting back on it, have lost just over a stone of the gained weight with just under 1.5 stone to go to get back to where I was in January this year.

Onwards into 21 and getting the rest of it off - and pushing on for more! June 21 holiday (if the damn 'rona permits) is my target date for getting to my ideal weight and I'm determined to do it.

Cheers everyone, sorry for the long winded tale.

Yeah I thought the treadmill was in miles so ran until it said 3. Then realised it was in KM. So only ran 3KM.

But seeing as I've not ran for year's I'm still pleased!

Bike ride tomorrow.

Such a strange year for so many reasons, but one of them is that despite lockdowns and working from home etc, I haven't actually stopped working since February.

So today was a partial wind down and a serious session. Tomorrow will be the same again and Friday I'm going to down tools. Fortunately MA training is carrying on over the break. I can't bring myself to get back in the gym to lift weights again though. I tried a couple of weeks back but got nowhere.

Keep at it Funk. You're allowed to lose your mojo. It's the getting back in the saddle that counts wink

Well done you and keep at it! If you have a look at the fields on the Wiki and add the data here then I or someone else will add a line for you - it's dead easy to update once you're on there.

Very well done lastexile69, keep it going.

Here is my progress so far:

30/10 - 12st 3
08/11 - 12st 2
15/11 - 12st
26/11 - 11st 12
13/12 - 11st 9

My original goal was 11.5 St so im pretty pleased with my progress so far. Im only 5ft 8 so may even go down to 11st. I have a holiday booked in June so my goal by then is to have kept the weight off and also gained some muscle definition.

Jumped on the scales and down but only .5kg. Not surprised as my diet has been st. I like to binge eat. If I've had a good day...ill eat. A bad day...ill eat. Stressed at work? I'll eat.

But a loss is a loss. I've had to put off getting a PT as I can't afford it currently. OT at work has dried up sadly.

Off to the gym now. Just downloaded Couch to 5k and a dumbell work out app. See how that goes.

Run done. Got a bit of a niggle in my right knee towards the end.

Dumbell app was st. Won't be doing that again!

Does anyone have any ideas for some weight stuff with just dumbells (oh and a barbell for deadlifts). Just to be a bit more interesting than running as I hate it ha.

This looked like a decent set for dumbbells. You might want to adapt some of the exercises to use the barbell too.

Glad to see some familiar faces still on here. I’ve fallen off the wagon a little recently as a result of some issues at home.

Went from 70KG to 72, down to 71 and now back to 72. Trying to get back into a routine seems to be the hardest issue.

Current game plan is doing an upper body workout one day and a lower body the next with some dumbbells. Only on baby weights mind you, 10kg and below
