In case anyone cares - came 4th today in the 10 mile dog/man trail run. So, off podium and no need to declare my roided to the gills status
Got crushed by a girl with a hound - she made my large body and my tiny dog both look equally silly
She should have been disqualified for not being a man. Got crushed by a girl with a hound - she made my large body and my tiny dog both look equally silly
Was she undergoing gender realignment?
I was considering placing this in the 'Supplements' thread where, by rights, it should be. But its relevance is more to the discussion on here I think. In my search for the least side effects possible off a supplement this rates quite high, certainly higher than test. More subtle than test, but after 1-2 weeks the results on libido are *cough* outstanding. Lots of research out there backs this up. There is also a plethora of research that found marked benefits for supplementation of L - Carnitine during exercise. I've found most supplements are bunk (Creatine, L Citrulline/Arginine being the exceptions) but I will be adding this to the list of non-bunk.
NB In the first article "androgen administration" = testosterone supplementation. There is little difference between the two in results barring Carnitine doesn't affect the prostate. Test does, and can lead to 'complications'.
Carnitine versus androgen administration in the treatment of sexual dysfunction, depressed mood, and fatigue associated with male aging

Supplementation of l-carnitine in athletes: does it make sense?

I don't know much about PED use, but their are quite a few young lads with disproportionately bulky arms and shoulders about. It may well just be 1,000s of curls and Arnold Presses, but it looks odd and "unnatural".
When I was a teenage rugby (county, regional trials) player there were some strong lads, but (not ripped and bulky) PED weren't really a mainstream thing as glfar as I knew.
Your forgetting that some might play sports that has lead them to having bulky arms/shoulders etc. As its got round to fighting talk, my arms/shoulders/back where disproportionate to (i guess) my chest, due to doing Jiu-Jitsu and playing American Football. Both sports had alot of pulling/pushing going on which, along with weights work, lead to them being bigger (if you know what i mean). When I was a teenage rugby (county, regional trials) player there were some strong lads, but (not ripped and bulky) PED weren't really a mainstream thing as glfar as I knew.
Then youll have people on the tools or just lifting boxes will mean some parts over develop compared to others.

I was actually talking about seeing them as I try to avoid their arms that they can't rest at their sides whilst carrying their shopping in The Trafford Centre.

Is that a hint at homophobia?

How is it homophobia if its being suggested that you like watching guys work out?I was actually talking about seeing them as I try to avoid their arms that they can't rest at their sides whilst carrying their shopping in The Trafford Centre.
Maybe you need to cycle back and stop letting the chemicals cloud your brain?!

It actually read as if you were salivating at the sight, truth be told. Why not just say those "extremely groomed, fake tanned men ....[with]... such big upper bodies" make shoppng at the Trafford Centre so much more fun? Nothing wrong with that.popeyewhite said:

As a former fat chap myself over 24 stone, I found dropping 10 stone resulted in an increase in testosterone (Purley anecdotally of course, increase in body hair and sex drive) and after losing the fat my muscle mass started to go up (Lost about 1 stone of muscle along with the fat) but have since put two stone of muscle on, I'm about 15 st/95 kgs currently still working on xmas weight and my body fat is 16.8% but it is usually around 15-15.5%
I'm well in my 50's but run 3 or 4 times a week at the gym and am now doing weights as well most days, It's certainly a fallacy that you can't build muscle after age 40 without "help"

Your weight loss is great-but your numbers sound whack.

You are still carrying a fair amount of body fat, in your 50’s and put on 28lbs of lean mass??? I’d be surprised.

Sure-but the maths on those numbers doesn’t make much sense (not that you would expect them to with biometric scales)
You currently weigh 210. With a lean weight of 174. If that 174 includes 28lbs of new lean mass you went from 146 to 174.....a 20% increase over the age of 50.
Having gone from 23 stone down to 12/13% BF and monitored with dexa scans throughout, my experience was that fat loss and lean gains (even with exogenous testosterone) were never far from what you would expect.
All that said, you may be a genetic muscle building machine.
